true, but given the name of the night, and the set they were following, i can understand that choice

and once they hit their stride it was devastating. showerman, stageshow riddim, that weird tuba tune, one absolutely fucked tubby beat (i think) all killed it

i fully rate them being booked, it was a welcome contrast, bringing a completely different energy

definitely :)

was talking to tronman about hoping he'd drop a bit more grime when that sick tubby or footsie beat was dropped. bruckout :D

was nice to see so many familiar faces too! off the top of my head, elgato, c4, optimum, boomnoise, oneman, azbo, messer, all the kings crew, rusko reso and friend (shouts to the blazed banter on the way home), shackletonne, poax, letty, dozer, streamizm family, logos, deaps, whistla, braiden..

big up especially to dozer for going on absolutely sick on me and deaps set - that was heavy!

DJ Sinc Vision wrote:Tubby`s set was very, very *meh*. Newham generals were an unrequired commodity. I said this to peeps last night but it`s true, the night was called `Dubstep Changed My Life`, not `Dubstep Changed My Life Via The Medium of Grime`. Dubstep is all about beats, it`s not about mc`s trying to take control of it, it`s about flowing with it and stepping in when it LETS you. Not only did they spit waaaay too much but also the sound wasn`t suited to their style, all it did was hurt my ears, straight up drove me off the dancefloor.*rant over*
It's just as well that you know what 'dubstep is about', since you were the DJ headlining this night.

i dunno, it sounds like a tubby tune, minimal percussion with a big wobbling descending tuba line

had a great nite, gutted we had to leave before Mala came on but good old Kidkut was driving us back to Bristal (cheers mate!! :D) and I didn't want him to turn into a pumpkin.

Shackleton took things so deep and tribal, good to see him on the decks, and Rusko & Reso were absolutely superb - smashed the place to bits, think I threw most of my last 2 pints over myself and those around me (sorry about that ).

Not sure how my set turned out - the monitor under the decks wasn't havin any of it so I was mostly trying to mix it by ear over the system. Had a wicked time tho, props to Boom for sorting it all out and getting me down. Oh and sorting a monster system to batter all our ears in - couldn't have done that one without earplugs!! :o

when's the next one???
