Personally I think Coki's production skill has gone massively downhill over time. Horrid Henry prime example - fuck knows what happened there but it sounds like a disabled person mastered it.
You might not like the track but it's fucking well produced. Sounds beautifully warm.
What, Horrid Henry?
It may sound 'warm' but a big steamy dog shit probably sounds 'warm' too.

edit...

Have u ever heard this on a big system? u are clearly a cock!! I have nothing more to say to you!
I'm a cock because I don't like some Coki tunes?
Yeah I've heard it on a big system. Unfortunately it doesn't change the fact the mixdown/mastering sounds massively distorted.
Not feeling the new Coki bits on Tempa either.

p.s I play more Coki & DMZ than is healthy in my live sets, so don't think I'm hating for the sake of it. Ex-Coki fan here if he carries on down this route.
No that's not why ur a cock.. ur just a cock cos of the way you write. "It may sound 'warm' but a big steamy dog shit probably sounds 'warm' too." I mean seriously...

£10 Bag speaks the truth.

You lot are silly if you all think "Duppy Soursap" is some fresh Coki material. All it sounds like is a remix/VIP of this track

Churning out similar songs and changing the name..... You seem to think because Coki is involved with DMZ and history he cannot churn out any brostep, the fact of the matter is he has.

++++Reason a Coki set is boring is because it's just Coki, when the hell does he ever mix in sets? Chef is standing by him doing everything then when's he with Mala he'll put spin back a tune and let Mala do the rest. Don't try and feed me rubbish because i've seen him countless times now.

Stop thinking your the only massive fans and that anyone that disagrees with his music is wrong because it's all fair and it's true.

As for Mala well his sets are the oneeeeeeee.

Just cos Coki has distorted basslines, doesn't make it brostep suddenly! Quit with the Mala masturbation and looking down on any dubstep with a wobble.. it's just pathetic!

Your opinion doesn't matter anymore

Did it ever? I'm entitled to share it though surely, we can't all like the same things. Just not feeling 'Goblin', doesn't do anything for me, at all.

Coki's stuff is distorted?

I mean, I listened to Horrid Henry on a £4000 set of monitors a few weeks back and it sounds technically awesome. Regardless of if you don't like the tune it's not poorly made. I was with someone who works as a professional sound engineer too and he kept on about how incredibly warm sounding and if I knew anything about what Coki used as a set up. Saying it sounds like proper nice tape and how it was some impressive production and he'd "never heard anything like it in dubstep".

the fact that some people don't rate Coki's recent stuff doesn't really bother me much, but Serious?? and Goblin?? and Horrid Henry? imo those are all top notch tearout tunes...
i can honestly say i dont like alot of the aggressive stuff coming out nowadays but producers like Coki and Jakes keep my faith alive. coki's material refreshes my interest in this spectrum of dubstep each and everytime, and i go absolutely nuts everytime i hear any of his tunes live.

my guess is that the listeners who aren't feeling some of this stuff just don't have a keen ear for tearout. i mean everyones entitled to an opinion but Coki is just one of those revered dubstep producers in my book

there's a difference to sharing your opinion, and being an elitist 'knowitall' wanker. just sayin.

as for coki... only properly feeling a few of his new ones (thats not to say that the others are awful though). 'lower octave' definitely being one of them - something about it that i can't quite pin, but really makes me wanna get up off my chair. would be stoked to hear it at the upcoming DMZ.

also... brostep? get a grip. stop labelling everything you don't like.

Yeah lower octave is a biggie. but still...

It's ridiculous, some people need to stop acting the "i'm Coki's biggest fan, you know nothing about Coki!".

You can't say to me I'm not a fan of Coki, only because I point out that his newer material doesn't match up to some of his past stuff.
Please don't batter on about how "fresh" horrid henry is, he first played it at DMZ 5th Birthday, yes the 5th! NOT 6th! - (The 5th smashed the 6th birthday!!!)
He's released it and it's killed the vibe of that song so NO, I use to go mad for it but it's really not that good!

Some Coki is brostep, you can't tell me Coki's tune "badness" is different to bass cannon, your chatting breeze mate!

but some of this fresher material is tear out bro and it's the truth.

Coki is coki and we're always gonna love him, but fact of the matter some of his stuff at the moment just isn't a "tree trunk", "road rage" etc...

(also please stop with the fake "big up cokes mandem out to you bruva", he's not going to read this come find you in a club and be like "safe man for backing up my newer material" like in your dreams!)

for starters the word brostep = :u: anyway

i wouldn't class badness and bass cannon together though. so maybe i am chatting breeze!

i've said it to mates before, and i'll say it again here.. but tear out stuff from producers like coki is just different. it still has his production style in it, and whilst it may seem a little 'samey' as of late, there's always something that runs a little deeper. well, for me there is anyway! in no way would i arse lick coki if i didnt like something he was doing, but i just cant group it in what i percieve the word 'brostep' to represent.

spot on smalleydave!

next they're gonna be calling Kromestar's jump up tracks brostep! However much I hate the term, it does have some meaning, and Coki ain't it. I know this has been covered a million times, but brostep is the shite that fills the top 100 on beatport and has nothing in common with any of Coki's tracks!
