yeah i hear you its always the closest city i thought of when i thought about Gotham City, along with New York
but its not meant to be Chicago, in the Batman world Chicago is still its own place, all i was sayin
i think it could just as easily be New York tbh, but its still its own city in the Batman world, i.e. New York/Chicago etc. all exist independantly of Gotham in Batman world

well miller said its meant to be the seedy side of NYC... but it wasn't created in todays NYC.... thus it lends itself more to Chicago, which is still fairly crime ridden and seedy, corrupt officials, etc etc

I was under the impression it was pretty much finished filming wise, maybe it's just a small scene or something. Imagine their budget would allow them to travel a little

Gotham has taken elements from New York City, Detroit, Pittsburgh, London and Chicago. Frank Miller has referred to Gotham City as New York City during the night time.
Writer Bill Finger, on the naming of the city and the reason for changing Batman's locale from New York City to a fictional city said, "Originally I was going to call Gotham City 'Civic City'. Then I tried 'Capital City', then 'Coast City'. Then I flipped through the New York City phone book and spotted the name 'Gotham Jewelers' and said, 'That's it,' Gotham City. We didn't call it New York because we didn't want anybody in any city to identify with it."

Cant wait to see Bane in the full film. Seems kickass. Though the Bane ''body'' is not well reprsentntenenentd here.....
And have I been slacking off in DSF while drinking beer for the last 4 hours? Fucks sake

Anne Hathaway is a poor choice for Selina Kyle, imo.
Film looks ok.
It's a shame Nolan hasn't explored Arkham Asylum much in his films. Possibly the most interesting element in the Batman universe.

agreed, I've always seen her as a more "classical" actress (not a very good explanation) She's suited more to a Jane Eyre esce film

that's pretty much how I would describe her lol. She was alright trying to do the sexy/mysterious thing in Get Smart from memory.
