This is very interesting to me, as I was scrolling about lolling, I thought of something... the saaaame exact phenomenon occurred with in the grunge scene. There were a bunch of kids and bands all part of this huge scene in Washington, that was fairly recognized. But then this one band came along... called Nirvana and it all blew up, and kids were "jumping on the grunge bandwagon" and all the old grunge fans hated it. Just like this shit with Skrillex (who I personally am a fan of) :p

Go figure... I'm guessing this is one of those re-occurring events in history

but they didnt rape the sound and turn it into something that was the complete antithesis of the genres original vision and had some credibility with music fans in a broader sense...the only people that propelled skrillex to where he is are 14 year old girls and panty man with shirt off

I think having not known a time when dnb wasn't as it is now means that I can enjoy some of the jump up stuff a lot more than in dubstep. Although I would probably argue it is a bit more melodic than a lot of brostep
