it was played right at the beginning, and then in some of the commercial breaks.
I probably wasn't paying attention, talking to folks or getting a beer or something. But here it is for all to indescriminately judge:
Wow, that would be hard to miss. I must have been at an all-out piss break or something during the times they played it.
the comments mention something about it being a promo b/c the team whose stadium is in the video wants to host the 2013 super bowl?
If this is the future, it seems highly livable: shiny, cool and comfortably dissonant. Like a low dose of ketamine in an empty, luminous airport hall in northern Japan, eating avocado and waiting for the universe to arrive.

I think they all want to host the super bowl, but according to this news article, Seattle (the city in the video) is tied with a bunch of other cities with a 50:1 shot, so it doesn't sound like it helped much.

i work at a production company so i get critical of vids
i thought the cuts were lousy and its all timescale shots.

yeah i just thought it was a bad video, thats all
not assuming its a dance vid

Okay, so what is a "good" "audio-visual" experience?
I just want to know what your point of reference is.
i don't know man, just watch some music videos, skate videos, OTHER superbowl promos
i don't need to back up my opinion with hard evidence. i thought it was shit. k?

This is one of my favorite ones of all-time. The first time I saw it was in a thread about how Flying Lotus had been talking smack about dubstepforum in an interview, and somebody commented to the effect that w/o dubstepforum dubstep wouldn't be where it is today. Then somebody followed it with that animated gif. For some reason it cracked me the hell up. He's like the most sincere clapper of all time or something.

It's from Citizen Kane, from what I know. But brilliant, yeah, whoever edited that gif. I've seen it on reddit so many times and it's still fresh every time.

That video is awful... music sucks, nothing but simple time-scale shots of a couple of spots
Awful & sucks compared to what? Its not exactly meant to be a dancefloor tune. I bet you didn't like the theme song to Grand Theft Auto IV either.
The tune is both poorly written and poorly produced. It sounds like absolute shite. The mixdown is crap. The wobble sound is really terrible too. Sounds like it was put together in about 20 minutes by someone who doesn't produced dubstep and was asked to do it solely for this video.
Just compare how it sounds compared to just this for example.

Well its my opinion that you don't really understand what a "mixdown" is, or the idea of aesthetic relativism. The NFL is not exactly about to play the dark, eccentric Distance tune you reference (which is decent but you coulda picked a much more impressive example) for their Super Bowl promo -- it just wouldn't strike the core demographic they were going for, and it doesn't have an anthemic feel to it.
Your criticism of the wobble is your own personal taste, backed by no reasoning in particular.
I think you're just jealous that this was one of this artists first attempts at producing a dubstep tune, and they did quite a decent job. Having a difficult morning, are we?
