once we've done like 2-3 rounds, make a poll to stickie it :) Also I had a thought that people might want to do a weekly beat challenge? Like you know a plain beat with no synth nd shit see who can make the best with no loops, then people could share their one shots and we could get a pretty awesome bank of samples from it :D Btw my sound doesn't sound like a sine anymore, is this a problem?

If I use FM, I can start with a sine but use 5 other waveforms of any kind?
I think it needs to be stipulated sines only.
I have the same question,i have finished mine too,the base sound was a sine but with plenty of overtones added using various effects.Even managed to get white noise from the sine using a send too so a bit more clarification before i upload please?
its a bit like the sample pack comps - you have to use a sample or in this case a sine to start with. but really that doesn't mean a thing, once you get used to using single sample waveforms, bouncing and layering sounds and using your sampler like a synth, its really not much of a restriction at all. you can generate pretty much any waveform you can think of, and once you put it through resonant filter sweeps, distortion, chorus etc then its just like any other synth sound.

i think this comp is a bit ambiguous. its basically just 'make a cool sound', with no real goal on what sort of sound to make. perhaps it might be better in future to have some sort of goal to aim for? i.e make a cool pad, twisted reese, good drum beat etc.
this is where it gets confusing
I didn`t resample, only external effects
6 sine waves

@SoundNuisance

Are we allowed to use FM (with sines obviously)?

I think if you use fm and only use sines as your mod source what should the problem be?I used convolution reverb over my sine to make my snare sound,some might say that is cheating but he said as long as the base sound is a sine then you have noting to worry about.

Once you use only sine waves you are fine. You can make a sine to sound like a saw, square etc. But once you start with a sine you are fine. I will say this again, start with a wine wave, or multiple sine waves layered and do whatever the hell you want.

The 10th is the deadline. Sound will be posted Saturday and winner announced Sunday. And most of you guys know what the second week is going to be. If you don't I will just keep it a Surprise. Also remember, starting from week 2 the challenge will go like this. Starts on a Monday, ends on Friday.

I can't wait to hear what everyone has done,i like mine a lot but it isn't really something i would use in a tune but it was a challenge all the effects i used to shape each sound and i'm pretty happy how it panned out.
