All trance is shit.
bare vibes man yeh.

do you practice to sound so perfectly retarded?
Are you always this contrived? I will speak on-line in whatever manner I see fit. I don't have to use hyperbolic eloquence to explain myself.
I could think of a thousand ways to say what is on my mind right now however, I think the phrase. 'do one' is most appropriate.

And trance is still shit.
lame dodge. u got no argument, stay dumb bro.
I dodged nothing. I addressed your question.

And Jon, Orbital are amazing, I completely agree with what you said. You heard SATAN by them? One of my curveballs for sure.

Ok so if I post 100 trance tracks here, then you will be able to intelligently and systematically describe why, in your all-knowing wisdom and compostional/production expertise, 99 of them are shite.

Perhaps using these points as a guideline

* Production Quality
* Inteligence of the expression of melodic/rythmic idea
* Synthcraft/Orchestration
* How it goes down in a venue

good luck...

You will only hear the best kind of trance played out of a 206.

It's all chino's and dance pop round here these days. Was sad to see all the done up 206's and trance/happy core slowly fad away to be replaced by chinos and even shitter music.

I wouldn't say Orbital or FSOL are strictly trance but they were involved in that scene and Papua New Guinea especially got rinsed by early 90s trance DJs. Though both groups emerged out of the rave scene. Here's a couple of underrated Orbital tunes.

Union Jack - Red Herring
Resistance D - Cosmic Love
Balil - Parasight
Spicelab - Spicecowboy
Art of Trance - Deeper than Deep
Dance 2 Trance - We Came in Peace
Age of Love - Age of Love (Jam & Spoon Remix)
Jam & Spoon - Stella
The KLF - What Time is Love? (The original mix on the Pure Trance 1 12" not the LP version)
The Ambush - Ambush 2

Basically any alias of Oliver Lieb/Simon Berry and you've got the good stuff.
Liked that Union Jack tune pretty well. Is Platipus a good label to look into?

The label owner is Simon Berry who is Art of Trance/in Union Jack/Poltergeist/in Clanger. Most of the good stuff is under one of those aliases. When the releases reach Robert Miles - Children it gets hit and miss but 2000 onwards it's all terrible fluffy shit. Releases worth checking out I reckon are the Wildlife on One album by Art of Trance and the There Will Be No Armageddon album by Union Jack. Outside of what is on those albums these tracks are worth listening to:

Art of Trance - Orange
Art of Trance - Octopus (Man With No Name Remix)
Union Jack - Morning Glory (this one is fucking awesome if you like Red Herring)
LSG - Hidden Sun of Venus
Clanger - Seadog
Poltergeist - Viscious Circles (Union Jack Remix)

Interesting, I've not heard people call acid naffy shit before. I've certainly never heard of the KLF being called soft either. Trippy on the other hand yes which is what trance is supposed to be all about and was when it was all about the tb303. Hard trance is unbelievably templated and stale (like all trance these days). Whenever hard gets put in front of a genre the number of women listening automatically falls and it just turns into a massive dick wagging contest about who can be harder. Cosmic Gate sucks ass. I'm not gonna say this is trance as there's enough raging over whether this is trance/techno/house. But it's definitely acid so let's just meditate on acid shall we.
