true dat krave!! i've cut down a lot. its not like the tune hasnt been battered on every system ive been to as wel tho so can't really blame it just on that.

anyway on a positive note, what's the skream tune that switches from very happy kind of reggae melody to full on bruckout fuck-up-the-rave kind of thing. i think its untitled, is that right?

Yeah... volume 1 was pushed back about a month or so if I remember correctly, so it is obviously the case with volume 2.

I cant say I mind though, there were enough releases this month to hurt the bank account. I need to keep the monetary beatings to a minimum after all!

P.S. Skream, you must not have a girlfriend, with your level of output and consistency. Girls are impossible to work around.

0800 is a big tune, let's not act crazy now. Whether the dubsteppers support it for much longer I can see the grime heads battering it for months. I know I will play the shit out of it when I get my hands on it.

Still would love to hear some vocal versions of these, I know that's not the main idea here but some of these tunes are just begging for it, 0800 has the right aggression and momentum for a good MC to go sick over.

I reckon there are two issues here. One is whether there should be vocal versions of dubstep tracks. The other is whether there should be dubstep tracks with vocals on 'em. The difference is that the former are designed to incorporate the vocal, whereas the latter aren't.

I sometimes get the impression that people on here are against the idea of both. Don't see why myself. If the track is designed to include a vocal and there is a strong working relationship between MC and producer (e.g. Spaceape & Kode9), then its all good.

Also, I've nothing against MCing over dubstep tracks on pirate - in fact i'm all for it (remember Dizzee/Skepta over Request Line).

But i don't reckon we need twelve 12" versions of a track with different MCs over it.

I'm with Shadetek and Alex and Rich - really, really, really want to hear some dubstep with vocals on it.

Just as I'd like to hear some dubstep with a bit of that garage swing.

Much as I adore instrumental halfstep, there's room for both flavours.

I can see the downside of too many vocal versions, but then again, as a dancehall fan, I want to be able to cut between loadsa different vocals. I accept dubstep isn't quite the same.

I know it's all about the heavy subs, but if you've got nice cans with proper bass response you can still get what's going on. I've must've lost half a stone with all the earwax loosened up by listening to the Skream/Mala/Chef show over and over on a pair of nice Sony's[/quote]

of course if you have a good little system with good enough response you can appreciate that, but the engineering qualitys should be taken into account especially with dubstep and such dance music

In my opinion... people concentrating on the quality of their mixdowns rather than the musical content of their stuff was one of the main reasons drum and bass went shite.

yer i agree that is a reason, i aint saying to judge something only on the mixdown i agree that the quality of the effects, rhythm, arrangement, and music are also as important, all im saying is that too many people base their judgement on a dubstep tune the same way with grime or hip hop or something, anyway i dont think drum and bass went shite, it lost passion and experiment, i still like to listen to it.
