Piracy - try and target multinational capitalist mafias, not the friends (or friends of friends, or friends of friends of friends, or forumates, or whatever) who are building the beats you blaze to every day.

seriously strange that people are arguing about music that we all have on mixes. i steal from people that have more than me, large corp's.
they will still be okay even if they go bankrupt, which is not the case for me, i would be a bum.that's where i draw my line in the sand, while it is acurvy dotted line! ha
definately no room in mydubspace for breakin' knees. that's stupid.

Well... DMZ and HotFlush are doing pretty good, so I'm thinking I'll just rip all my vinyl and hand them out on SLSK... I'll give you all my username when I get done ripping them.

How dare I defend those who are keeping it real?

What was I thinking? I'm just an asshole who wants people to *GASP* pay for a product.

People who steal music off independent labels deserve to die.

should (dubstep) music be exclusive only to those 10% who live in dark brown area? only to those with high standard (money)? (i thought that's not what dubstep is about..)

should we kill the bastards form central africa cos they used slsk on his collage pc (mmm.. what collage? what pc?) and maybe heard a few dubstep tracks?

yeah.. your logic works nice in London or New York.. but how many ppl live there?

i'm sure true artists (and dubstep is still led by them) would be glad if their music put a smile on someones face.. much more than with couple of quids..

only that attitude led me to buying vynils.. not any kind of pressure..

Sorry mate, that's a non-argument. There's plenty of free dubstep people can download without stealing stuff that myself and others are breaking our backs trying to sell.

that's true in this particular (dubstep) scene at this particular moment..
but i don't even have to give other scenes for example: just try to remember how many free dubstep for download could you find in the same time last year? none (or maybe one or two mixes)

and from their point of view, that's a non-argument too - cos for them it's the same thing - legal or unlegal - on your label or free - it's only music to them.. not goods..

of course, artists should live from what they do.. and live good..
but i don't think capitalism articulates it right..

ok.. i was raized in socialism :P i can't understand you..

What difference does it make if they were never going to be able to buy it in the first place?

As far as I'm concerned militant attitudes on both sides of the argument are part of the problem.

Personally, I don't like mp3s, yeah they have their uses, but there's nothing like vinyl, and this is comin from someone who doesn't mix. I think if people really do have a love for the music, they'll want to pay for it - if they can. I've downloaded a lot of stuff in the last couple of years, but most of thats been old stuff. The only reason I've this done is because I can't afford to buy a lot of the music I want to hear, especial when its rare and hard to find - why should I pay some twat on ebay a ridiculous amount of money, none of which the artist will ever see?! I think when you're talking about new music though, especially music on small labels, then there really is a moral issue.

sorry.. my logic is working again..

that's a non-argument mate!

if you sell your music - then we can assume that it's more quality than free download music (otherwise - who and why would anyone buy it?!)

so, what you are saying is that someone who lives in africa is not allowed to hear first class music, but only second class free download for pour?

that's true.. that's how it works..

but i don't like it.. especially when it's something as music..

you stole that music form africa!!!
have you payed for using their rhythms and instruments  (this is a joke, but every joke is half true)

i know that this has little to do with dubstep, but i can't go over it..
