This is a false statement
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=drumstep
Clearly says that it's a subgenre of drum and bass, keeping the tempo of 175, but switching the drums to half time...
lol sorry but I refuse to take "facts" from urban dictionary I only know what I hear. :a:

....just, what the fuck. the original post is a drum & bass tune. 'drumstep' is just half-time drum & bass, and has existed forever.

Stop making new genres up and just play some fucking good music.

It will never be in wikipedia because "Drum dub" is already called Drumstep... I don't get what's so hard to understand about that....
People don't accept it because 'drumstep' has been around for around a decade and it was always just called drum 'n bass. Guys like Amit/Digital/Outrage pioneered that sound many years ago. For the more wobbly stuff, guys like Twisted Individual and Gdub, Distorted Minds, Drumsound etc did that back then too, and even though I didn't like jumpup dnb, it's better than this lol.

There's nothing dub about this, but it's jokes anyway.

^ Exactly, i used to think all the hard, techy, half-step dnb was sometimes called drumstep.

Yeah, exactly.
And except maybe some Current Value bits, the only things actually tagged as "drumstep" I've heard are bro-y shit like the one I posted. Which is ok I guess, don't really see that stuff as dnb.

Yeah Goldie was doing halftime dnb on metalheadz back in the 90s, now it's just called "drumstep"

good points -q- yeah you would probably not want to go with just "dub" if it's drumless drum dub cuz I could imagine how bad that would fuck with with people that are just raging their asses off  :W:

can people stop calling all half-time dnb 'drumstep' please - its not. 'drumstep' was a shite name invented to describe the new fad of jump uppy dnb being made with half-time drums (more specifically drums with the kick on the 1st beat, snare on the 3rd and repeated) which in itsself is ridiculous that it even warranted being given a new name.

im considering making a tune at 140bpm with a snare on every beat and calling it snareydubsnare, its going to revolutionise the scene yo
