The reason i don't hold it as a belief just yet is that some of the planes i struggle to really understand and buy into, but quite a few of the others just seem like logical extensions of consciousness and i can see the benefits of addressing them as such. I've always accepted/liked the idea of the Dream World being another realm for me to exist in, and many of the things you've presented make sense to me in the context of dreaming, something i know a bit about which helps.

But like i said, some of the ideas seem logical to me and i'm beginning to understand and appreciate why people hold these beliefs, with a bit more research and reading i might begin to understand the things that, currently, seem a bit "iffy" to me. Astral stuff is baffling to me at the moment, for example.

had a really strange lucid dream the other morning when i was ill; all i can remember now is that it involved a gorilla and a cruise liner....hmmm

Man I gotta start doing that checking my self to see if I`m dreaming in real life thing more often so I can try to lucid dream. I don`t seem to dream as often as I used to but sometimes I have an intense alien invasion dream or once had a zombie dream where when I wake up I`m all relieved it was a dream. I tend to just go with it even when my surroundings change and I notice it just feels natural, and strange places seem familiar.
Or I`ll see a place in reality that I swear I dreamed before. Whats that all about.
The only time I can usually go back into a dream is when there is some girl involved, get these feeling of love or whatever but rarely turns into sex as I manage to remember I am engaged and don`t want to cheat, being lucid here would be awesome. And after reading this thread now wonder if I am dream sharing and part of someones else's dream cause it feels different somehow, like I am making some connection with someone. I usually will hope to see this person in reality for a few days after one of these dreams.
I have only ever been able to semi control my flying once and I remember it was really hard work, usually it`s the shoot off up in the air and freak out variety. But the funny thing was I used to daydream in elementary school about my desk flying me places and in the one controlled flight dream it was the same kind of desk I had to sit at to fly.
But yeah that comment about fucking and flying being the biggest distractions is so true.

Anyway good thread, I love dreaming.

My mate had mushrooms for dinner, *ahem...

He then saw himself as a ball of light floating around,
he found other balls of light,
one of these he recognised as his friend who was living overseas in South Africa

So the night went well and the next day he woke up & had a phone call,

It was his friend in S.A, she said
"Thank you for visiting me in my dream last night"

Been having some really strong recall lately and looking to kick it up a gear
Trying to find somewhere to buy Silene Capensis root but it's pretty difficult (i found a dodgy "legal high" research chem site selling it, sold out though)
If i try to get some off ebay from abroad (it's really expensive) will it actually make it's way to me?
If not, does anybody have a good pointer to where i can get it in the UK? Or i should i just try the Calea Zacatechichi instead?
I dont like that comes in ground leafs and looks like a "drug" whereas the Capensis comes in root form.
I mean, i live with my parents, how could i explain this unmarked bag of green powder coming through my door

So I've taught myself hex conversions in my sleep over the last two nights. Mornings actually, in that hazy time when you're half-asleep and half-awake as previously mentioned. That is the time I usually lucid dream.

So late Friday night/early Saturday morning at around 2am I made the decision to finally understand Hex number conversions. I was extremely buzzed, mind you. I studied it for a few minutes and then went to bed.

Yeah, so what you say. It's just Hexidecimal. Well, the interesting thing is that I have dreamed about it the last two mornings and I was actually doing binary and hex conversions in my sleep and the calculations were correct, I could see the numbers, letters and binaries in my head.

Sometimes if I'm reading a book in my dreams, the words will morph and change and rearrange on the page. That wasn't happening here, the numbers were very clear.

^ That's some cool shit, the closest i've ever come to something like that was remembering about 1/4 of a speech i had to do in class

I've been hitting a spell recently where i can't remember any dream, any tips on how to get out of it?

lucid dreaming is cool but I find it more weird that if I know I need to wake up at like 7:30am or whatever and then set my alarm I always wake up a few minutes before the alarm even goes off.
It's uncanny

haven't slept for more than 40 minutes at a time, collectively about 3hrs, over the past 75 hours or something and am the tiredest i have ever been, but i have a knack for keeping my mind up for as long as i want and haven't lost this yet, so later im going to try experiment and go for my first wake-initiated later!i've read conflicting reports about whthere this technique (by which i mean depriving yourself of sleep noy wild in general) works but only one way to find out

managing to experience really strong sleep paralysis last night
went to sleep early without my usual routine, just straight in.
wasn't sleepy, just really bored.

was asleep for about an hour or so before i became lucid in a dream but it was really rough, everything was dark and panicky.
i had a, let's say, low "framerate" on the dream and everything was tunnelled, but i was pretty sure i was dreaming.
i felt myself slipping into wakefulness, and as soon as i was out i didn't move.
i thought "what if i enter paralysis"

and then

my body felt like it was being compressed and contracted all at the same time
naturally i panicked but this time i swore i would see it through
then the auditory effects came in, like a dog whistle, monks chanting, boiling water and hundreds of twigs snapping at the same time.
was really intense but was managing to sit through it, furthest i have gotten.
but then my eyelids starting flickering open, and you know that feeling when you have tight shoes on and you can't wiggle your toes?
unbearable.
so i started wriggling, was a struggle, but when i felt myself slipping i stopped and let it ride a bit more.
my vision started going from black to white and the sounds were building up into an epic crescendo.
in fact, the vision was not unlike the second photo d-t-r posted on this page.
the audio stopped save for a descending whistle like in road runner cartoons, and i was thinking "will i wake up or enter a dream?"
when everything faded, i woke up
didn't get bac to sleep for about 7 hours

sill though, what an experience and at least i know what to expect next time,and know im supposed to vision something to enter on the other side.

Sick, I kind of had a similar thing when I was back at uni working on my dissertation, can't remember what it was now but I got my head around an existing model in psychology and applied it to my data which I was having real trouble doing in waking life.

It's like you can use more of your brainpowerz on the problem at hand rather than it being used up to filter out sensory info/feelings/worries etc.
