3za- that qebrus shit is top notch, not you is it? really picks up where aphex twin left off, IMO. at any rate I'm a fan of the alien gibberish music and would give like to have a crack at it when I've got time.

everything you hear that is new to you is obviously gonne be exciting, but expecting an artist, or group of artists within a genre, to produce mind bendingly new material to quench your thirst for the next new sound is a little unrealistic to be perfectly honest. New sounds are awesome, but I don't expect to hear them everyday. This coming from an avid lover of all kinds of music. At the end of the day, I just like a well constructed song, regardless of genre, but hey thats just me.

to whoever said "you're only new once", true dat and the sad thing is that a lot of the classics i used to love aren't any good songwriting-wise so now that the novelty has worn off the only thing keeping me listening to them from time to time is nostalgia.

what people should do instead of jumping on to the next hype is saying to themselves "okay, the novelty is gone, the sonic niche has been carved and explored, now let's get serious" and start writing proper tunes you can listen to from start to finish, that are engaging, have a vibe and would make a proper musician nod in approval.
Imma give a listen to all the posts, thanks should keep me busy for a while! I'm not hating on dubstep obviously I love it, just not the new new (yet). I'm probably just buggin out cause it's exam time and I've got comprehensive exams for my major after christmas break.

Anyway I forgot why I made this thread in the first place, cause BORGORE RUINED DUBSTEP!

So you're asking us if we still listen to Dubstep, when you have no idea what Dubstep is?

The fact that you're listening and paying for Borgore tunes sounds tells me that you have no idea what you're talking about

Kryptic Minds, Biome, J:Kenzo, Distance, Youngsta, their Dubstep artist, fuck off with all you borgore and skrillex fan boys

It's mostly what i listen to.

Tunnidge, Distance, Kommon, Digid, Desto, Gravious, Commodo, Killawatt, Sleeper, District Thelem, Benton, Perverse, Truth, Subreachers, Cyrus, Kromestar, Sukh Knight, Biome & Kryptic Minds, Dubapes, J:kenzo, Jack Sparrow, Cyrus, Mala, Vivek, Coki, Loefah & of course Skream & many more. There are so many great artists out there.

My first love was Hip Hop. 2012 has been great year there with Kendrick Lamar, Sean Price, Roc Marciano, Skyzoo, Ab-Soul, Saigon, Blu, Nas, Curren$y, Big Krit, Killer Mike, El-P, Oh No, The Alchemist, Earl Sweatshirt's amazing change in musical direction on & on.

i still listen to the classic stuff and i check out recent tunes released by those artists - skream, dmz, burial, pinch etc.

i love and still listen to the dubstep/techno crossover stuff - skull disco, early hessle, applepips, early 3024, tectonic, hotflush - circa 2007-2009

but no dungeon/bro stuff - its boring or shit

I've completely lost touch with dubstep now.

I don't bother listening to mixes anymore. I sometimes chance upon new artists and releases that are all classified in that weird "post-dubstep-future-bass-musik" category. mostly when I'm listening to new dubstep music now it's in the form of album releases.

the whole brostep/complextro thing has just left me disenchanted with the whole dubstep "scene". not that I have anything against that type of music, it just seems entirely different (both sonically and aesthetically) to the type of dubstep I am interested in.

Maybe you should look into dubstep's roots to figure out where it should be heading in the future.
Like future garage?

nah man machine code are the future
not afraid to be gnarly but with so much more atmosphere than any dungeon tune, plus their percussion is mad.
except when they go for the hypersnare screech combo, that sucks

well that and the deep medi crew, even though i dont even listen to it really
