Rare dubstep vinyl?
Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
dont really have any rare vinyl tbh, most if not all can be bought on discos, just gotta pay big for them.
benga beats vol 1 is pretty rare i guess,
anti war dub is easily attainable if your willing to fork out,
goat stare and mud occasionally disapear from discos,
same as mala - in luv (not quite sure why, very overhyped record imo)
i got the white label of groove chronicles - stone cold which is the same as the full release so maybe doesnt count?
loefah - jungle infiltrator
the bug - jah war
digital mystikz - pathways
tbh the only 2 dubstep vinyl that id like to own are dmz002 and mala - alicia
the rest are garage vinyl like ordinary people - baby you make my heart sing

The original Shackleton / Appleblim – I Am Animal / Mystikal Warrior press is pretty rare.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying Kryptic Minds - Badman when I had the chance, when it was un stock everywhere.
I have a few TPs but nothing to brag about.
My rarest vinyls are some old garage white labels but no way of knowing exactly how many are in existence, although I think some of them were pressed in quantities of 100

Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
Don't think I've got anything particularly rare. I've got a white label of I luv u, with an instrumental on the other side. Diggin on discogs seems to suggest its a TP. Also have Eskimo/Split it down the middle which is on discogs starting at £40. Although I bought it about a year ago for £12.
Also have first runs of Find Jah Way and Percy/Fierce.

Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
Does the I luv u instrumental have dizzee chatting in the intro? It's not a tp, but rather a self released white label before he and the tune were signed to xl.Doozle wrote:Don't think I've got anything particularly rare. Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
It doesn't, I was just going off what was on Discogs. So I'm not really sure, one one of the sides it says "courtesy of button pusha!" and I just had a quick look at it and it actually says Dizzy rather than Dizzee which I'd never noticed before. Has SI MASTERPIECE etched on the run out area. Never worked out where it's from, could be a bootleg or something.
Also have Darq-e-Freaker's Cherryade EP which is apparently limited to 300 and I've never seen it pop up on discogs although it's in my wantlist

Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
probably Ruff Sqwad - Love You Feel. barely ever see Bumbaclart Badman on Discogs either, though there's two on there at the moment.

Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
As a yank - it's been hard fucking work and keeping an eye peeled since 06' for this shit - here's some my 'rare ones' I can think of..
Digital Mystikz - Haunted\Anti War Dub
Mala - Lean FWD
Loefah - Mud\Ruffage
Digital Mytikz - Bury Da Bwoy\Hunter
The Bug - Jah War + Skeng
Skream - The Shinein\Backwards
Zomby - Spliff Dub (remixes) = tune!!!
Toasty - The Knowledge
All Hessle Audio minus 001\002 (early ones and EP's are getting pricey..
other bass related -
Blawan - Getting Me Down
Karenn - Untitled (Sheworks001)
Koreless - 4D
Burial - Ghost Hardware
Burial\Thom Yorke - Moth\Wolf
Scuba - Adrenalin
Clams Casino - Instrumentals
It's definitely peak of the hype train for this stuff. Coupled with the trendy resurgence in vinyl, the popularity of dubstep\bass music and all of its for better or worse
subgenres, and the sheer volume of media coverage \ press hype on music and releases, things sell out in a blink despite being plenty of copies - and then accrue huge value in very little time.
Blows my mind that records released the month they are out are flipped into the $100+ range. Tough time to buy records for the sake of enjoying the music these days. Almost all of these were bought for 'normal' record prices (though those are always a wee higher on this side of the pond)

Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
my rarest bits are probably;
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Vol 2 (brown vinyl, only 10000 pressed, selling for quite alot on discogs these days)
Horsepower Productions - In Fine Style (only just saw this on discogs, havnt seen copies for yeaaars)
Digital Mystikz - Anti War Dub
Dennis Brown - Slavedriver
Aswad - Warrior Charge
Earl Sixteen - Natural Roots
id say the above 3 are probably my rarest, due to the fact they were all pressed in the 80s and i dont think theirs any left on discogs

Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
I bought my copy of Babylon Fall only a few months ago from a record shop. Have a faint feeling they may have some left
Re: Rare dubstep vinyl?
MEDI05 MP, Cut End on both sides. Only 90 around.

I bought one off shackleton off here when that happened!
although i wish i had the one with full artwork and better mastering as the mispress sounds really bad.
