imami wrote:when did everyone decide that justin timberlake is a legitimate musician? i must have missed that memo..

To me thats like saying garry barlow or robbie williams are good

im fully biased though
those of us who have followed his music post n*sync as a solo pop artist know he's more than legit
he's one of the few pop acts who hones his vocal range and tries new things musically
i'd go so far to say he's on the level of michael jackson experimental wise as far as pop, and god i loved mj as a musician

Imami do you seriously not like JT?

Seriously?

You didn't melt when you first heard "Cry Me a River"? You didn't full-body smile when you heard "My Love"?

Hath thou no soul bone?

please shut the fuck up and quit trolling

for those who don't know about vocal range and what it requires to sing in certain keys and keep any sense of body in your voice.... there are maybe 2 or 3 dozen humans alive that could sing start to finish without flinching like he does in that video.

that song was massive and exactly how many people do you see trying to sing it on all these singing shows?

remember this is a song that aaliyah absolutely butchered

I don't get how people dislike Timberlake, he's probably one of the few pop heads on the level of MJ and actually good.

i think a lot of people can be quite narrow minded when it comes to the genre of pop

def, you are a bro, but why do you hate the timberlake?

(jayz is my complaint on this)
but dear lord this is gold pop, great vocal range and circa coltrane or miles davis for hipsters to jazz, it's great big band (minus jayz i fucking hate that).
if you listen to timberlakes old lps youll see they are god tier production and his vocal range has evolved.
imo hes untouchable like jackson, but he has yet to cover him i think

on the level of MJ? i like the guy, Futuresex/Lovesounds was one of the best pop albums of the last decade and Justified wasn't too shabby either but that is a silly thing to say.

I would say that JT is the Michael Jackson of his generation and leave it at that, further breaking down the comparison is pretty pointless
