I do feel a little bit sorry for people like you - you have to pay (potentially) 1000% more to get them same level of enjoyment out of a tune as someone with not quite so good hearing.

Mp3 is a degradation of the sound already though. It's a lossy format. Yeah I know It won't get worse but still. It's pointless now to use Mp3

Also I have been able to identify vinyl consistently in a double blinded test (and not from crackley sounds or anything). a lot does come down to the quality of the master amd pressing as well though. I would take well mastered cd over a vinyl pressing where no one had any idea what they were doing making it.

Anyway saying sound is sound makes no sense. A record through my nice cartridges, amp and speakers is going to sound considerably different to a low bit rate Mp3 on my cdj. I mean that's being obvious but even playing a record through my mixer first rather than straight into my amp makes it sound shitty.

Upgrading my cartridges on my decks has made a huge difference too

At this point mp3 really is old and pointless tech when it comes to music since large storage devices are cheap as, and FLAC and wav are available for most releases.
You did touch on issues that vinyl can have though without knowing it such as poor needles/dusty carts, dirty media, poor amplification.
I know most records I played a bunch djing have taken their fair amount of abuse as far as dirty hands on them, etc.
Honestly if I had the option to trade off the majority of my white labels for a hard drive of wavs or FLACs from the masters I would.

Im not gonna come in here and say that vinyl sounds better than digital, theres been COUNTLESS discussions on this kind of thing, and yes you may be able to tell the difference between vinyl and digital on some things, but thats just probably down to the mastering, obviously you dont have to limit a much when cutting, but to me, digital sounds good too, even 320's.

BUT, I just prefer to buy vinyl like others have said, its nice to have the physical copy of the releases you like most, something you can keep and cherish lol. And I would love to get my shit released on vinyl and be able to own that too, but in no way do I think that vinyl rules over everything in terms of sound quality, im not gonna hear a 320 and be like 'OMG, it would be SO much better if this was on vinyl'

Nah I can still enjoy it. I'll still listen to my tapes of dnb I had as a kid that are completely fucked and sound like they have someone turning the cut off on a low pass filter up and down the whole time. Just the point was I can hear the difference and enjoy sound that much that I will make my efforts to enjoy it as much as I can

I'm more the sort of person to think almost every sound is cool enough to record if you make me walk around with a portable recorder in my pocket than be that guy who refuses to listen to a music unless I can do it sat at home with my system sat in a perfect triangle to my speakers after spending silly amounts of money on a still sealed record from the 70s just because I couldn't stand hearing a single pop or crackle.

That's the only thing that I like better about vinyl releases these days. The mastering on vinyl isn't as squashed, usually, because it can't be. It's a limitation of vinyl having favorable results by diminishing human error. Back when I still regularly bought vinyl I had several new albums on both CD and vinyl and the dynamics of the vinyl pressing blew the CD out of the water. Now I only buy it for stuff that isn't out on CD/digital.
