Riddles wrote:The problem is, you appear to love datsik, so aren't into the music he is into. Why would he bother making a datsik-esque tune when he doesn't like it? Just to prove to some guy on the internet that he can? I think not.

Also, there are some brilliant producers on this forum I rate more than datsik.

You're entitled to your opinion, just don't get stroppy when people aren't agreeing with you
For the record, I don't like datsik, and the stuff I do like is the collabs with Excision. There's a difference in liking or disliking something as a matter of personal taste and being able to respect somebody for being talented. Yeah but that's such a common comment by so many people "oh I could make that sound, it's sooo easy". And then the ones that say never actually do it, or if they do they come nowhere near the sound. And for the record, I have made at least 3 or 4 sounds on the 'help me make that sound' page that I absolutely despise. But I thought I could make the sound I hate, and I did, even though I had no personal interest in the sound whatsoever. And tbh, The tunes he just posted were really good (believe you me, I'm no hater of the dark and minimal). And of course everybody is entitled to their opinions, but when you say something like "datsik is a joke", you'd better have something to show for it when saying it on a producer forum. Quite honestly, I don't particularly like zomby as much as everybody else but I don't hate on him, and can be the first to admit the man's got talent. There's a way to express your musical opinion without being a snob. Rant over.

This is a dubstep forum: this is why he warrants the title of a joke. If you like Datsik, then you go have a look at UKF's forum or brostep forum. You'll fit in perfectly man, seriously.

this is why i wanted to post about datsik: i edited these fucking videos and songs together and i thought dubstep fans would enjoy them and think that it was some cool fan made stuff! but apparently it's not dubstep and i'm dumb and i'm pointless and i make pointless comments and i make pointless posts and videos. this website is full of douchenozzles. my video has over 3000 views, 0 dislikes (until you troll it,) and 17 likes.

THIS IS WHY I POSTED THIS THREAD, AND IT IS THE ONLY REASON:

Datsik got me into dubstep. Good transition from metal to electronic IMO. The stuff he's done with excision is sick!

"For the record, I don't like datsik" - that's a quote from me just in case you're a bit retarded and didn't see that the first time. There's a difference between liking and respecting. But once again, please show me your talent. Enlighten me on your infinnite wisdom as to what dubstep is and what it isn't. Because you're right man, genres never evolve at all. God forbid music change in any way. Everything should sound like mala and burial. If it doesn't than its absolute shit. Show me your incredible tunes that prove you're so much better than datsik and all the other bro-step producers. By the way, congrats on your youtube channel filled with other people's tracks.

This is a terrible argument. People aren't allowed to have an opinion on something because they don't do a similar activity?

I don't play professional sports, yet I follow several leagues and I can tell you who is good and who isn't.

I don't make movies, yet I can tell you who is a good director and a good actor/actress and who isn't.

youtube views are really special. 3000 is a lot. Downloading some brostep and slapping it against cliched video clips is incredibly entertaining, and everyone thinks you're great for doing it.

Happy now?

touche. I know I probably shouldn't. I honestly am just tired of the incessant line drawing. I have no problem with civilized discourse. But when people say things like "he's a joke" or "he just sucks". That's a bit of a childish approach in my opinion. Frankly I like "brostep" and "real dubstep". This faction is just a bit rediculous in my opinion. Get over yourself, listen to what you like, and stop judging people for having a different taste in music than you.

Getting bored now. I COULD make a tune like Datsik, but I'm not an aspiring 12 year old child who's subscribed to UKF. Yeah, I bet he goes in all technical with an LFO and spent hours producing shit - kudos.

There's evolving and then there is complete alteration - which I believe I said a few pages ago?

Wise up man, listen to one of my 100 odd uploads or 2000 odd favourites you might realise that your bait comment "everything should sound like mala and burial. If it doesn't than its absolute shit" is hilarious.

once on that brilliant 'dubstep' page that i have long since left some kids said in response to a tunnidge upload that it didnt have enough bass....datsik tunes all over that page and everyone loved em...

so datsik is clearly better than tunnidge and has deeper bass too!

I'm not asking you to post a tune like datsik. I'm asking you to post ANY decent tune you made. ANY.
Pretty simple request imo.
