Not meaning a UK Funky revival, more like UK Funky infused stuff. And this Happa track uses the same esthetics as the initial brostep stuff imo, ie 18yo (irrelevant but still) Guy going "oiii let's this sourd that's sick at the moment and compress it to the extremeeee". I loved the Habits of Hate traces but this is just too much for me - and I like both techno and noisewolf89 wrote:Nah fuck off. That tune is sick you're just being wetexfox wrote:more uk funky
more cowbell definitely
more kowton
less stuff like this
matter of opinion of course and i generally love techno, but I feel like this is taking it way too far, could not listen to the whole comp straight
Especially when you're saying we need more UK Funky which disappeared because it had run its course. Like I wouldn't mind hearing it played out again randomly but we don't need a revival it would get so boring so fast.
What does electronic music need more/less of in 2015?

The music fills a form doesn't it though? Like a musical need. What fills the form that grime filled? Dark, hard, future, cold, and weird?finji wrote:Johnlenham wrote: More pluse X remixes

I knew you were going to say that, but it isn't one thing... future.
Re: What does electronic music need more/less of in 2015?

Grime still sounds future to me.
The old grime and the new grime still sound future.
The techno that reaches me is not progressive.

we need a new influx of musicians named only with letters x and yHarkat wrote:less vowels in artist names

But too many Ys as they act as a vowel.

word, i remember hearing that tune for the first time and just being floored by how weird it was. probably the best thing swamp has put out alongside work them and the trusta 12"Liam92 wrote:Swamp81 need to stop releasing bullshit music and start making more stuff like this:

also the reason you cant find monica is cause its tessela
a lot of tessela stuff from that time period basically sounded exactly like trusta's stuff though, thought hackney parrot was trusta as well before an ID surfaced
Re: What does electronic music need more/less of in 2015?
talked to him in person and I asked if he knows about the uproar his swamp release caused and that people still talk about it.Liam92 wrote:Swamp81 need to stop releasing bullshit music and start making more stuff like this:

he did say he's aware of it but didn't give any promises for future tracks. he isn't that mad about the current state of things meaning how bass music is so 4x4 nowadays and basically wouldn't like to contribute to that with more housey stuff. or at least this is how i remember it
tes isn't that active with music nowadays anyway because he's busy with family etc.. solid bloke altogether
