I am also a bit sceptical but I still don't really like to listen to those recordings because are still a bit freaky. From what I read quite a whole ago EVP is proven to be real but science don't think there is anything paranormal about it.

yeah its interesting shit init. I did a shitload of research into lucid dreaming and dream control etc, inspired by the film waking life? i find this thing of an old woman sitting on your chest suffocating you quite terrifying, as its something everyone has experienced, even if they know nothing of all the times it has been recorded throughout history. dark shit

Waking Life was good because of the things that it got just spot on. Things like the digital clock being unreadable, like not being able to turn on light switches in dreams. They were all things I'd experienced but thought it was just me. Seeing that the same things happened to enough people for them to make a movie about it was weird, in a good way.

Dreams fucking fascinate me, you know?

Lucid dreams scare the shit out of me.

I had one where a dead girl was upright facing me at the end of my bed, then i woke up sitting exactly where I was looking at the girl in my dream, in exactly the same situation etc etc

its easy to lose grip sometimes

yea my flatmate writes down all his dreams says that coz he so clued up on the details of what he normally dreams about means he able to regulary take control of them an dream about whatever he wants.

i really like the idea of having this control of my dreams only ever happen couple times to me, but im not into the idea writing them all. Some of them are just too messed up an i'm quite happy for them to just stay in my head.

an yea i'd lay off the drugs see if that makes any difference. If it is just a case of over-indulgence trust me you'll save yourself a lot of grief

man, this shit is really interesting. I've never had any ghost experiences, and i'd like to keep it that way... as cool as that shit is, i'd rather be bored

try burining some sage or something man, or salting the place... by pouring salt around the perimeter of your house or something... yeah they're pretty hippy ideas, but i'm sure that right now, you'll try anything, huh?

interesting theory though - the earplugs may work, not because the voices are real and not in your mind, but because the voices ARE in your mind, and putting on earplugs is a way to mentally block out the voices (because you'll belive that they work).

now, if you ever go crazy, we'll know 'cos you'll be wearing earpulgs everywhere!

oh i've had, actually, some limited paranormal experiences. There are these things, i call them "others" that are about the height of a housecat, and they're black. they try to get under your feet, and you can see them out of the corner of your eye. I've only really done shrooms twice, and other than that no psychedelics. I didnt start seeing these things till I started doing the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram years back. What parson said, about doorways in your mind, is very, very true.

My mates sayed there are shadow people, a few of his family have seen it too , They Just blank it out tho,

A mate of mine compared it to going three steps up a ladder but only being able to get back down to the first and never return to the ground.

By the way, when you hear these voices are you drifting off to sleep? Also can you be 100% sure you didn't do these scratches a day before mashed/pissed up?

Adding to the paranormal tip, if you Google ghost scratches or poltergeist scratches there are some other people saying about being scratched before.

8 bit those scars you got are scarily similar to the ones i've woken up with often, you don't live near old kent road do you? maybe a spook is doin the scratching rounds about there

also whoever said that they used to have dreams about a grim reaper chasing and cutting them and then wakin up with scars that is fuckin scary

Ghost scratches I always thought were self-inflicted. If you rub yourself with your fingertips in the same line for long enough (like hours, overnight even) the skin raises up and starts to look like a scar. So, like people who grind their teeth in their sleep, it's just a subconcious thing.

But yeah, looking at your photos 8bit, there's no way you could have done that yourself. I'm a good bit chunkier than you and I can't even reach that high up my back. So, erm...

About the shadow people, I also get them, about the size of a big dog, up to man-sized like 8bit says, not cat-sized. They seem to happen more frequently in some places than in others, like in my mum's house where I see them all the time. I was once at a friend's house, having a cuppa with her mum, the kind of crap small talk you have with someone's mum, and sort of saw someone coming out of the next room and standing in the doorway, peering in. I turn to look and there's no one there. Her eyes light up and she asks me, "You just saw someone at the door, didn't you?" I say, "I thought I did, yeah." She laughs a little, "That's George." Apparently she's the only one in the family who can see 'him', her husband and daughter both think she's mad, but she talks to him and everything, says that as long as you pretend not to notice, he'll stand there until you're absolutely certain he's there, she even says "Hi George," to him, but he never says anything back. If she hadn't been saying it with a smile on her face in the middle of the day, it would have been real horror movie stuff. I quizzed her daughter, my mate about it for weeks but she'd never noticed anything weird in the house at all.

My thoughts on this "shadow people" thing though is unfortunately that of a fairly standard response...bollocks

The brain is an INSANELY powerful thing, and surely we would want to at least understand it fully before we come up with ideas of the paranormal? I mean, these shadow people appear to be a vaguely human shaped black shadow type appearance? Im sorry but I think there are far too many things that could explain that in terms of simple neuro-physiology to start moving onto other explanations...

Edit: Just read one of the articles on shadow people:
