There's gonna be outrage from the tramps. Where else can they drink, shout at pigeons and ask for spare change?metalboxproducts wrote:Yeah but i bet it wont be long before they ban drinking in public parks.stormfield wrote:the law fails to recognise that drunks who cause trouble on buses/trains tend to already be drunk before getting on, anyway.
Nothing wrong with being pissed in the park on a lovely summer's day though.
Boris banning drinking on public transport >1st June

Fuking Jokes, like the police protest idea.concept_ wrote:http://www.spacehijackers.co.uk/clp3/A Man Called Dave wrote:Who wants to have a party on the circle line 8-12 May 31st, Get a little portable system, and some crates of beer, keep going round and round.
one of the best reclamations of public space I have ever witnessed - pole dancing, covering those crappy adverts with your own art, covering the halogen lights with nice colours, music, drinks, commuters joining in and all in good spirit and mirth - don't think it will ever happen again on that scale now that Boris 'party pooper' Johnson has arrived. Thankfully I'm going to Leeds for Uni - might not bother coming back to London cos its looking shitter everyday.

If its something you can manage without for all this time and is only a seasonal activity then thats not much an argument against it really?Delendi wrote:HOLD UP THO... is this actually a LAW or is it 'no longer permitted'?
i don't drink on public transport very often but i'm pissed of cos like... FUCK OFF, IF I WANNA DOWN A CAN ON A HOT SUMMER'S EVENIN ON MY WAY OUT I FUCKIN WELL WILL
People hyping all over this but have you not seen the zones in town centers etc where alchohol consumption is prohibitied anyways? Thats what gets me more angry!
If all else fails, put it in one of those dark tango bottles if your really desperate.
regarding the cannabis regrading and drink problem
what i find 'humorously' ironic is the fact that while cannabis is blamed for a lot of youth violence and mental health problems hence the regrading, there is nothing socially worrying about a highly paid London lawyer hitting the bottle after breaking up with his wife and shooting shotgun shells at his neighbours and police on one of London's most famous streets in a residential area....

Can't imagine anyone doing that after a few joints. As Bill Hicks says
"If you're at a football game, someone's loud, they're obnoxious, they're fighting; are they are drunk, or are they on pot? They're drunk. No-one ever gets into a fight on pot because it is fucking impossible"

I dont agree with this tbh. If you're at a football game, someone's loud, they're obnoxious and they're fighting its because they are a wanker, booze or no booze. I've seen peeps like that on weed on a few occasions. Last year I witnessed a couple of people attacking each other while on ecstasy, something I cant even begin to understand....Wub wrote: "If you're at a football game, someone's loud, they're obnoxious, they're fighting; are they are drunk, or are they on pot? yeah but bruv those are clearly unusual cases, the number of people getting aggy on alcohol compared to those two is WAY largerTomity wrote:I dont agree with this tbh. I do agree. Alcohol does bring out those negatives. But I think the stress in people's live's is the main cause, especially when violence is concerned. It causes peeps to take more of something than they should and the underlining stress brings out the negative aspects more.dubluke wrote:yeah but bruv those are clearly unusual cases, the number of people getting aggy on alcohol compared to those two is WAY largerTomity wrote:I dont agree with this tbh. good point actually, its not like booze turns normal people into raging stnuc by some kind of magic, that only really happens if they have that trait to their personality anyway, its simply unlocked by the boozeTomity wrote:I think a similar thing applies to booze. As its consumed more widely your going to get a lot more problems but the vast majority of people will happily drink and not cause any hassle. It leads back to this stupid law Boris 'Liability' Johnson wants to implement. Its just a way of clouding over the real issue with stupid policies. You live in a big city full of overworked stressed out folk. Unfortunately, violence will occur. Who knows, maybe taking a can off someone on a bus might just tip them over the edge. Good luck to whoever has that jobdubluke wrote:good point actually, its not like booze turns normal people into raging stnuc by some kind of magic, that only really happens if they have that trait to their personality anyway, its simply unlocked by the boozeTomity wrote:I think a similar thing applies to booze.
