Good vibes :)
Those are some of the most fucking beautiful flyers ever.
No one cares about that kind of aesthetic in Toronto. Toronto is all flash, hipster neon.

Toronto dubstep scene is weird, and not in the best way either. Way different than any other city I've dubstepped in. Heh.

Dubstep in Montreal is not very well known.

I mean...there is some Dubstep, but we rarely have dubstep events. It's more common to see a Dubstep DJ alongside DnB, Ragga, Electro, Break DJs....

We have Dubstep every thursday alongside other styles of electronic music at the Passport. Sadly the Dubstep DJ is always schelduded before midnight, when there's close to no one in the place...

There's also Komodo, who is holding Komodo Dubs events from time to time. Never been there yet. I know that he'll have both Joe Nice and Michael Red come in Montreal soon.

We're also trying to make place to Dubstep in the rave scene, since the rave scene is working well here. There is a couple of Dubstep lovers among the scene, but most of the ravers are teenagers tripping over Hardcore. Dubstep is slowly gaining popularity among DnB (bass loving) and Psytrance (trippy sounds loving) ravers though.

Problem is that in the rave scene, they usually make a little place for Dubstep either in the chill room, or in the morning...wich is ideal for slow dowtempo Dubstep but doesn't let the chance to DJs to present hard visceral wobble bass...

Kode 9 once went to Montreal during the Mutek festival, and The Bug came to hold a show with Warrior Queen. I think Benga once went to a Komodo Dub event. There's also Dubstep Experiment who played in the day event Piknik Electronik and sometimes at the Passport, but they just moved to Vancouver.

If there's any DJ arround looking for a place to help the Dubstep scene grow, Montreal is the place. There's a bunch of extreme fans over here looking for the occasion to make the scene go BOOM.
"I am getting so far out one day I won't come back at all."
