Cloaks
Cloaks - Versus Grain (3by3) is an essential purchase. Deffo transcends genre's. Rust on Metal is probably the best metal/dub combination I've heard in a while.
www.myspace.com/cloaks

Scorn
As some have mentioned, Scorn is the long running industrial/ambient/whatever project by former Napalm Death drummer Mick J. Harris.
Essential stuf includes the Stealth full length and several 12's on 'combat recordings' and his own label 'in the margins'. It's deffo worth it to check out his older stuf as well. Don't you be calling this dubstep though, because Mick will certainly throw a fit if he finds out.

King Cannibal
King Cannibal has several productions in the same style as the above artists. Just check out discogs for his releases (I reccommend getting the 2008 stuff, he also did a mad podcast together with scorn for Radio 1 (Marry Ann Hobbes) in that same year which is worth tracking down).

A quick list of other names :

- Distance (deffo metal inspired)
- Legion of two (planet mu)
- Vex'd : essential for any dubstep fan. All works from 2004 'till 2010 are essential for your discography

I'd say these are 5 are spot on.

I recently got the bassist of my instrumental metal band into dubstep and he put together this track:
http://soundcloud.com/krefcheffington/shredstep
Raw and blatant fusion of strictly guitar based metal and dubstep. The riff at 1:50 is downright nasty. Keep in mind its a rough draft he hasn't touched since the day he first made it so its badly in need some editing especially in the beginning. I think he may be on to something.
