Im half way, I agree Coki is a badman and he added a sound thats ripped up dancefloors all over, I think his tunes are pure filth, but I have to admit deja vu when I heard Goblin I got that "I recognise this tune but im so smashed its sounds different from last time" kinda feelin.

What im tryin to say is that inevitably producers will get a "sound" thats linked with them, and thats how they get popular, but I like to hear next level production, and theres plenty of artists signed / unsigned that are makin fresh sounds that push things forward..

no one is untouchable and everyone can have an opinion, even if i dont agree with it. I think coki's tunes are as important as early dillinja. They are incredibly emotive yet with the ability to tear a club apart. The one thing i would say is the mix of his tunes. Road rage is unplayable. The percussion is lost in the lead sound making it sound incredibly distorted.. You cant really tell what the tune is actually doing sometimes!

Burnin' is powerful stuff, Lucifer is one of my favourite tunes of the last year or so and Tortured is :o :o

I remember seeing a list of his tunes on here somewhere. I think that said it all....

from the stuff u mentioned, i get the drift ur into your more melodic stuff and tunes that come like actual songs.

i can appreciate that and where your coming from cos i love the really musical stuff....

but thats good in one way, whilst stuff like goblin and robotnik is good in another way.

its dance/rave music so it has the major influence of repeated patterns etc. thats just by the nature of the genre.

just sounds like to me your not into the dance/rave orientated beats, which if thats the case u can understand why that strikes people because fundamentally it is all dance music (some tunes more complex than others).

correct me if im wrong?

This is the only reply that is worth saying.

yeah but coki has completely rewritten the rule book and come with something shockingly fresh at least 3 or 4 major times leaving everyone else copying frantically. he just has a habit of taking one new sound/approach and making a lot of tunes in that style then moving on to something new

and to abs - i know what you're saying but just because people start giving you shit it doesnt mean you should start saying stupid, offensive things, just stick to your guns and be polite. concentrate on getting your point across in a way thats understandable. i get what you mean about the way coki structures his music but in my view thats the difference between a "song" and a "tune". both are equally valid imo but if you don't like coki's stuff you have the right.

just don't be surprised if people jump down your neck for saying DMZ are boring. Digital Mystikz/Loefah get HUGE amounts of well deserved respect on this forum and elsewhere for all the great work they have done and many people will jump to their defence if someone is giving them shit

whoever referenced coki to be as important to our community/scene as dillinja was in his early jungle/dnb days - big up yourself.
i feel you there 110%.

Dmz, boring, that is the biggest load of tosh iv heared in ages. If you would have said you dont feel it then fair enough but when you say they are boring and unimaginative its just crazy.

Mala, Loefah and Coki's styles couldnt be any different.

Guess we wont be seeing you at dmz any time soon. Instead if being negative about stuff you dont like, be positive about stuff you do. You must be a glass half empty kind of guy.

Actually, can we lynch mob this deamonds guy because he's insulted some tunes that Cotti made?

well, it is strange that you found out about dubstep, since most dubstep tunes (as in dubs) are without vocals..

you didn't say which team you supported until after you'd effectively said "the team you support is total shit".

if you're going to be so outspoken you should be able to deal with it if people respond

if not try being a bit more diplomatic about the things you say.

What?

I had no problem with being 'outspoken'

I said what I thought about Coki, and then everyone went crazy and wanted me off the forum n that, then i'll admit after that i was not so nice.

Do you not find it a bit ironic asking me to be able to deal with it, when its you lot who cant handle it when anyone says a bad word about your beloved dubstep producers.. and fuck off with the 'be more diplomatic' shit, im not the one continuing this stupid argument on the sly in other threads.

there's nothing sly about it, i was making a joke about it because what you said was ridiculous

you said all of DMZ were boring and that coki was an example of mediocre cliched dubstep

and you have this thing like everyones precious about it.. its not that its just that is an unfair comment on your part

hey why dont you go on a jazz forum and say miles davies was a cliched run of the mill trumpeter? in fact forget him! the whole lot of them - herbie hancock, john coltrane - they're all shit as well!!

what kind of response do you expect when you talk total crap?

there are people on this forum who like DMZ and some who don't but i sincerely doubt any of them would slate them like you have.

and as for "gay garage" - seriously why do you even listen to dubstep?
