real emo had nothing to do with lego hair, black hair, bad hair, any type of hair, balck eyeliner and all taht other fuckin shite. it was just a term used for 'emotional hardcore' in the 80's dc scene (see rites of spring or embrace).
hardcore is a different fish kettle but i can say that everything (99%) thats currently called hardcore is actually not. most of it is just fast metal with less solos and more breakdowns. alot of early hardcore was based around only 3 or 4 chords because the bands didnt know any others and more focussed on the passion and intensity. I would also say that proper hardcore gig although it is violent its very rarely intentional and there is a large focus on making sure others are ok - ie. if someone drops u pick em no matter what the fuck's goin on.
hardcore should involve - good music, dancing, shouting, shopping trolleys and gorillas. as this video helps to illustrate

fuck it, if they enjoy the music, its as much their music to listen to as it is yours!

I honestly hate it when people say this. New emo is still emo, just because emo elitists think its not doesnt mean so.
For the record, I think both types are waste. I know alot of people who started to like old emo just so they could seem open minded and smart and then say they liked emo and then go into a rant about how new emo isnt emo at all rah rah rah.

hahahahaha. I love "hardcore" music. Doesn't mean I can't love dubstep too in the same way that I can also love cheesy songs they play on MagicFM. Although I've been listening dubstep a while I know about 6 artists maybe a few more but i know way more tracks by ear. I just listen to what getws me going, deep grinding bass maybe with a technical topping.
I guess you guys see this the same way I see drum and bass. Pendulum are okay, pretty catchy. But not the alpha-omega of dnb. If these emo-tards did a little homework it'd be a little better... and maybe drop the outfit.
Having said that, you can't deny you get some characters intwined with dubstep maybe even to rival the blockheads of hardcore.
first post? yes.
long post? yes.
twat. definately

by saying this it just shows you actually have no idea what you're talking about.DanRev wrote:

how does it make people seem open minded and smart? if you said old it would make more sense. just sounds like you need to stop hanging out with trend whores.DanRev wrote: For the record, I think both types are waste. I was and still am a collector of mid 90s and 80s emo records, specifically 7"s
and I mean emo not emo, as in hardcore punk

later on in the night, some kid got punched in the face so hard, he fell backwards off the table he was sitting on and had a seizure, and started to bleed from the ears.
show was shut down, and my friend (who set up the whole show) was sued.
fucking HxC kids.
