Re: 140 bpm?
it's called rhythm. it's what gives a style of music its identity.deadaelus wrote:Why do so many producers make there tracks at exactly 140bpm?
This makes it way to easy for people to mix, and subsequently drawing the wrong type of people toward mixing dubstep.
Thoughts?
have you noticed that every music genre has one?
all electronic music is easy to mix. a good dj uses innovation to create their own sound by mixing creatively.
the beauty of this is that ANYONE can do it - that's the point.

surely it's because the default tempo setting in fruityloops is 140?

i don't use it...but it's an interesting idea to think that a default setting on a peice of software has been partially responsible for shaping a sceneexecutive steve wrote:surely it's because the default tempo setting in fruityloops is 140?

Ok ok I don't listen to 'a lot' of grime but what I've heard ain't 140! Loads of sample packs I've seen are 125-140 as well so quite a few are prob not doing it how you'd expect...
I make what I want how I like it, standardising tempo restricts creativity on at least that part but also rhythm to a lesser one.
