I dont know why people are defending Zomby,

If you get booked, you play!

zomby no shows is a gimmick on the 50 cent vs rick ross level, if yall cant see through that you are dumb.

either that or hes got some serious stage fright, and should just pull a burial...

some level of respect is required... otherwise this is all hype and waste

so yo, seriously, cause i do like your posts, tunes aside, what is this about?

how many no shows before the community calls bullshit?
mate, i've never been to a show where he was on the bill and didn't turn up, and to be honest, if he did tur up, what would it be like? is he some sort of alchemic genius at djing? just because he's a sick producer doesn't mean his dj set would be some next cross genre thing on a brackles/oneman/blackdown level! maybe it would be, i don't know...and to be honest i don't care - you hear his tunes played out whether or not he turns up, so as long as he keeps making them i couldn't give a toss about no-shows.

things is, all the way over here in nyc, ive had the chance to hear blackdown & oneman both kill it.

and id rather somebody pay them to come back... they seem to want it more.

*edit* actually, never mind "seem" they both killed it proper, and id love to see them both back here in nyc...

as far as i'm concerned if you had wrote Aquafresh i'd forgive you for no shows

If he turned up it would ruin the enigma.

TBH I couldn't give a fuck whether Zomby conducts himself like a gent or turns up to shows (I was @ the fwd he was meant to be at). This is completely irrelevant to his music.
Bit of an extreme example but should we disregard Futurism as a hugely influential artistic movement because of its dubious fascist ideals?
Art and ethos are 2 seperate things.
As long as Zomby keeps makin tunes like
Rumours and Revelations
The Lie
Strange Fruit
Liquid Dancehall
Gloop
Aquafre5h
I will always rep his tunes hard because they are so innovative, I'm sure there are plenty of other producers who I would think were dickheads but that's got nout to do with their music ffs
I want my beats to sound like arrhythmia.

Regardless of whether he makes good music or not, I still think it's pretty shite that he'd book a show and then give no explanation as to why he didn't attend.

And he doesn't actually do himself any justice in that thread that was linked, does he? Just a shame that the geezer seems like a bit of a twit when his musics quite good.

I've been stood up by Zomby before. I don't think I've actually met anyone who has seen him, despite him being booked all over the place.

Not turning up in London is annoying to both punters and promoters, but letting some promoter overseas book you for an event when you know you're not going to turn up is the behaviour of a tnuc.

Nobody cares if you can't DJ or whatever, but if that's the case then don't accept bookings just so people see your name on the flyer and think you're big.
