Misk wrote:im from dnb, i dont make drop music. as a matter of fact, i dont know what i make anymore. im with shiva here, in that i love the idea of using a series of records to make something bigger than the individual parts.
i like the idea of taking tunes that are good by themselves, and turning them into something beautiful when mixed with eachother. i like the idea of a tune being more than a tune when its part of a mix. the track loses its identity and becomes something more; it becomes one short moment in time within a longer moment.

for myself, i miss the times when i didnt know about producers, and i just knew when i heard good music. i let my pretentions go and enjoyed the music for what it was. a journey, colored by the way a DJ presented it.

yeah im tired, but i like what i said.
so do i

i know how you feel, ít will never be that way again though, so now i just try to make up for it by mixing really cool (only been mixing for 4 months but i believe i'm getting pretty good at it)(taking bits and pieces and flipping them in and stuff)(or taking tin foil sky, only flipping in some of the drums, then flipping over to boom, then mix in another tune and return to tin foil sky eventually)

oh, and i love skull disco, kode 9 and the tempa allstars bits, the more spacey bits with all kinds of sick drums

a big drop doesn't have to be loud and heavy to be big, right...?

its all about the producer being clever

Not necessarily. I'd say in the last 6 months the prevailing sound in Dubstep is the deeper stuff. So many producers now are digging further into their creative selves and bringing a fresh sound to the table you just have to know where to look
