FEEDBACK:
Burgeamon You've definitely nailed the flow and vibe on this track, the basses sound better than before and the drums are nice and clear. In regard to stereo, the main midbass actually sounds very centered to me, if it's falling apart in mono you've got to consider 2 things - is this getting pressed to vinyl or is it getting played on a large mono system any time soon? If not I wouldn't worry too much, just try and finish it up (keeping your <100Hz frequencies mono) and if you need to you could always attempt to make a proper mono mix later on.
thelastthing I like this, attempted a similar style track ages ago (http://soundcloud.com/spectrafunk/new-wave-demo). The problem you have is that the mids/bass is lame in comparison to the guitar, it's really flat and repetitive. Try giving it some melody, resampling, reversing chunks, widening etc etc. Just make it aggressive and in your face and not a "wub wub wub" flat loop.
Eat Bass Lol... lots going on and it's LOUD hah. Some nice vocally growls, not sure what you're planning on this but it would be cool made into a full track - just tone down the treble and hiss on the mids.
almostskate100 Lovely chilled intro, I like the slow build but it wasn't interesting enough to stop me skipping through - try adding more subtle elements within the first 90 seconds to keep it fresh. Nice drums, and the jangly percussion is cool too. I'd attempt also to make your sub warmer, try saturating or adding higher harmonics.

Okay so I tried making the drums better in this WIP, the mix is still shitty and some things are way too loud but I'm hoping people like these drums better? Edit: I just realised the drums ound really weird, like there's no low end... I dunno why but I'll reupload a better copy.

@reversed... man this is lovely!!! just needs a master i rekkin. shoot me over a copy if you could please! gorgeous.

@Burgeamon... LOL dude i dont even know what to say about how goofy of a funk tune that is! its pretty dope tho sounds like something stenchman would play. would also like to catch a copy of that, super different! as far as ur sound issues on the bass i think you just need to eq and compress differently until u get it the way u want.

@NorCoDubstep really great fuckin tune man! would also love a copy of this except i just take issue with that "fart" bass, it needs to not be so farty. also some of those deeper snares could be eq'd to punch more in the high end or just layer a higher pitched snare in there. nice keyboard playing tho! sillyness! love the atmosphere

anyway i guess i got 2 things to offer up here, on is a sideproject im working on writing an album under. downtempo stuff...super weird...

Soundcloud

and then this dubstep one

Soundcloud

not sure what to say about it, i sorta hate the mixdown right now its real like...trapped in a box, i dno if thats my compression but ive been having this issue with the krk 5s where my stuff sounds real boxed in when i play it on other speakers. also could be reasons sound i guess but i dno. anyway thats the VIP here is the original

@ Thelastthing - Nice idea, love the menacing vibe this has to it. Cant really comment on the production levels too much really as i'm listening on the lap top.

@ EatBass - I say carry on with it, has a high energy level that is always great fun to produce.

@ Orps - As i said before, cant comment on the production a great deal, but can tell this is well made. Very interesting track, plenty going on here, great use of breaks, really enjoyed the listen

Here be an effort of mine...

@Echoi The synths sound great and realy computery and the drums are really good. I also think the switch you say you aren't sure of is good

@-boring listened to the side project one, really interesting stuff. I would listen to an album of that, followed

@mthrfnk really enjoyed the cinematic feel of the glitch hop track. My only recommendation is that you make the drums a little less Koan sound-y. Getting tired of hearing the same drum sounds and patterns in every new glitch hop tune.

Here's something I started today -

http://soundcloud.com/cryonicdreams/wip

Haven't gotten round to doing the drums yet so they are just straight kick snares

mthrfnk- I love the intro still, vocals fit perfectly in the back of that. the cinematic rise is a little weird, but when the drums drop in it fits really good. the vocal chants in the background are damn good. the structure on this song is really good. nothing really clashes. once you get the low end back on the perc its really gonna make this thing interesting but overall its a damn good track. the outro rides out smooth.
for the dubstep work, its not really my cup of tea, the bass just doesn't fit right on the drum work for me. all preference though. the sound production is tight.

-boring
1st track- love the disjointed feel to this. really sets a unique vibe. perc play is nice and tight for a nice laid back grove that will make you bob your head. im doing it as im writing this. i think the chords at 1:35 could grow on me if i purchased this but when they first sit in it feels kinda forced. i guess its really just one of those you could teeter on depending your mood. Great riding music though thats for sure.
2nd track- what can i say. this track fucking blew me away. the vox in the beginning step this up ten fold. id like to see a little more thump in that kick but thats a prefence call. reminds me a lot of a coki sound with that crazy synth going through the back. the effects on that shit are spot on.i feel like it needs a couple small spaces to breathe. regardless i would for sure buy a 320 of this all day.

echoi i like the weird broken computer sound going on. i just think its a little over powering. i love the beat its nice and glitchy. would love to see where this track goes for sure.

brothulhu- tried to listen to your wip but no page found. tune in your sig is a smasher though

heres my next one. really happy with this so far, stepped up on the perc a little bit in this one. shots to electric head also, just got his sample pack today and copped a couple unique sounds for this one.

@oprs: Nice intro, maybe a bit harsh on the high end. The mix needs a bit of work, it sounds a bit flat although everything is clean it just needs a bit of beef in the midrange to make it sound warmer? I like the drums and the extra percussion that builds. The little "ohohoh" samples fit well too. Not much else to comment on, like I said I think it would be nicer if you "warmed" it a bit by adding some harmonics/saturating the mids more.
@Brothulu: Link failed.
@Echoi: Intro's slightly weird, not really a fan of the ringy synths. For me this is a little to "experimental", but if thats how you wanna go it could get interesting, if not I'd tone down the harsh glitchiness a bit. The drums sound good but overall it needs something more.

Just tidied up this, it's almost done now, any more ideas:
Soundcloud

And finished the structure on this (atm the bass just loops):

Btw if you give me feedback, could you say which track because I've posted 4 now haha. :oops:

Just edited my post above with another updated WIP (http://soundcloud.com/spectrafunk/trouble-downtown-wip).
@Brothulu: I like the intro, and the bass is nice although would benefit from being warmer. I get that you're going for the minimalist vibe but even so at points the track feels a little too empty, perhaps some really wide and long verb on the drums sidechained to the kick may fill in some space and add movement?

Any tips on making it warmer? I have some saturation on it

Either manually add some higher harmonics (play the same riff of notes an octave higher but like 30% velocity) or add them using a waveform such as a saw. You could also layer some white noise in the midrange lathered with wide reverb. Then you could try running through a tape emulator as well as saturating and compress it all together. Btw idk what saturator you use but http://rekkerd.org/bootsy-releases-tesslase-vst/ is nice.

@burgeamon: Thanks for the tips dude. It's almost the same way I process my basses. SOmetimes I use a cabinet simulator too :D

@boring: I like the track man. In my speakers sounds good. PLus there are good variations in it.

@Broth: wow your sound are so damn clean :Q_____

@mhtrfnk : the bass sound is a little too thin, dunno if it's just me.
this is some stuff I'm working on...I'd like some technical feedback :D

Thanks :D

@hashkey
nice vocal processing, but that one sample needs some variation (i like the way you put different inflections on it, but i got a little sick of hearing 'i'm addicted' by the end)
maybe a touch more high end in your snare
the end section could do with more sub
good tune :)

@brothulhu
nice sounds, try putting a little more ear candy in there (something automated in the high end just to keep things interesting)
love the percussion dude
like mthrfnk said it needs some movement

@oprs
Like the dark vibes
The hat sounds and scraping in the end is a little bit piercing and painful.
Dat glitchy vocal, awesome dude.

here's mine. its not even close to being finished, its still at the conception stage really, but i'm getting a little stuck about what sounds to use to fill in the gaps....

thanks everyone for the feedback. so the general consensus for my loop is to continue it but definitely fix the mix. like i said i made it on iphone headphones so I'm definitely going to clean up the mix and eq accordingly. i listened to it on normal speakers and it does sound like a harsh high end and too crowded. nothing that can't be fixed with some subtractive eq. i also might change up the rhythm and notes a bit too. i didn't really do it to any particular scale i just was fooling around with my macbook keyboard in class and recorded what sounded cool.

@mthrfnk: those drums are awesome. the groove has a really humanistic feel to it and the beat is chill. can't comment on the low end because I'm on my macbook right now, not hooked up to monitors.

@echoi: thanks for the reply. i will continue the track because your right it does have a high energy level. i wrote it on thursday (my last day of classes) so i was excited to get out of class and start the weekend. i guess those vibes led to an exciting loop.

as for your track. it sounds pretty awesome. it has a really dissonant futuristic vibe to it and the drum groove is awesome. i would say try to add a bit of melodic content to it though because while the dissonance is great it needs something melodic to make people want to hit play again...maybe a subtle lead of some sort.

Feedback:
@JockMCPlop: Intro is nice, I like the drums too (similar to what I tried to do with the track in my sig). I dig the vocal flutters you have and the background arp. As for filling in the spaces - do you need to? Don't add stuff just for the sake of it, how about changing up the perc instead to keep it fresh? If you really wanna add more what about a swooping sidechained midrange pad?
@Hashkey: Nice clean vocals and ncie intro build. Tbh the vocal phrase gets a little repetitive, maybe stutter/pitchchange it more. The and drums are nice and sound clean on my setup. As for technical feedback, apart from the arps and tapping perc the mix sounds very central, try and pan some things around and widen your midrange perhaps?

I know I've posted a shit ton over the last pages, but I'm trying to finish up the tracks for my EP, I made a set here on SoundCloud so if people wanna listen & give feedback it's better tha nme posting loads of links like I have been doing:

Looking for feedback on all the tracks plus how they sound together... theyr'e all still WIPs.

@mthrfnk
-trouble downtown; great sounds. really relaxed. only thing id say is that the vocal sample is really low middy.

@jockmcplop
-sweet sounding vocal and plucks. trancey.

@hashkey
-wow. sweet bass. i dont have any critisizms honestly. excited to hear the full track.

@brothulu
-that sub's kicking my ass:) bring up the high end on the pad? cool percussion

heres mine. id love some feedback for this is my first track. Thanks

thanks mthrfnk

your set

1. Astralite

TBH i have not really heard this kind of thing outside of movies before. Its really nice. You could try getting that snare drum to punch a little more. I like the reverse effect on the snare. The fill at then end of each heavy section sounds like it could be a little more than just the snare hitting a few times. That's just nitpicking though, the tune itself is great :)
Vocals at the beginning and end are nice.

2. BabyDoll

Again the snare needs some work. The bass part of it is nice, but it could use some more of that upper range hiss. Is it from a virtual drumkit by any chance? The beat in the intro sounds very flat and static, but after the sub kicks in there's much better variation, and it sounds wicked. Love the sample in the intro. The atmosphere is good. I'm used to the music i listen to having more fluctuation and modulation, but i think that's genre thing rather than being something wrong with your music.

3. Waterfront
I like this alot. The percussion really flows nicely, and the panning is just perfect. The pad sound's lush :) Nothing bad to say about this one really. Maybe a little mod on the lead that comes in at 1:58 but that's stylistic i guess.

4. Trouble Downtown

I would do some more work on them basses. They sound like they could do with some more effects on them to get them to blend better with everything else. Again that snare could use more high end. Nice groove, and the risers in the background are great and give the track a good vibe.

Heavy sounding stuff dude. The drums are HUGE :)
The mix sounds pretty good to me. I would love to hear some percussion in there just to liven up the beat a bit.
