Good shit bud! You and your bro are too talented to stay underground for much longer. I think you guys need to find a hot chick vocalist or two, and start with your own vocals.
Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Or just let her sing into an unplugged mic and then shag her in the storage closet.

dfault: very nice and mellow man, my kinda tune. I'd say maybe try switch up the main melodic progressions a bit more here and there, could provide something a bit more varied. All the sounds are there, they just need to be played around with a bit more
budhorse: this is 'Ardd mate, big ups. you could get in some high end, some robotic hats from samples of noise or something. could try sidechaining the bass too, a groove like that is perfect for some bouncy rhythms
sunklo: great artwork man. This sounds like Hancock tried to make Megadrive music and I love it. progression I guess is the key word m8. especially for something that has such a jazzy vibe to it on the Rhodes, it could do with some... freedom. just let the keys go wild bro, slightly off-key here and there and slightly off-beat at other places. with this sort of stuff it could be repetitive as long as its not a digital one y'know, not a loop
noways: eerieee. to be honest I don't have much to criticise here dude, it's dark, raw and has an unpredictable edge to it. great stuff

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
For what you do the h6 should absolutely be enough. I use a h4n. It's not an LDC, but it is much better than an ordinary dynamic mic.
Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Sorry, late again. Spent most of my weekend making a new production desk. Here is a rework of an old tune. been a bit lazy with it though...

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
@jizzman
shells.: yeah love the atmosphere
but ok yeah maybe dorp that harsh cymbal tiny bit i agree or move it more in the back
love the drums you choosed and this instrument that plays violin?
maybe try to let the beat go more underwater at times i dunno kelpe had one really ncie udnerwater tune forgot the name but it reminds me of kelpe def
just maybe some filters here and there could add a bit i guess nothing special some moving lowpasses
but yeah i like it nice one
412 rmx.: haha yeah dig the vocal work and all this panning. maybe the beat is too straight still? i could see some wierd tape stops and stretched snares really work here
haha breaks my head. could maybe be an opener for a mix or sth if you plan to do one cause i dunno how it might work as a full song
full english.: like the lowpassed kick has this old drum machine vibe snare clap nice too
maybe the hi hats could get a bit wetter? i like those wierd percussions that come in later
not sure about the melody i would like it bit straighter not too pitchy cause i like it just too extrem in this wierd mini pitching
dig this next melody that comes in wierdly works better now the first one haha interaction seems to help overhear the pitching.
hm maybe overall tad more pumping could be nice like just a bit more of this house pump
@Defaultuzer
clean crispy mix like it
nice stereo field. nice sub haha yeah def dig this. nice layering of percussions and hi hats everything feels like one piece. hm maybe just one melody on top again lol i lov my cheesy melodies but yeah just a short melody line maybe musicbox or whatever works for you can be a easy three note melody
doesnt need it but i could see it benefit of one
nevertheless quality tune
@sunklo
agree clean mix everything has its place. musically really nice all those interactions feels like a band playing
. but yeah maybe just maybe some dif drums not sure if i feel the hard snare for this
its not like it doesnt fit but yeah personal taste
hm love how you brought in this little reverb later to make a difference to the first section
i would say break your flow to make it work even more like just some short stops and drum breaks
you have some nice breaks but make them maybe longer at point just let one instrument play a nice solo or sth i mean look at bohren club of gore sometimes nothing happens but its still full
agree with the pop idea just bring tiny bit pop in your jazz :3
@nowcc74
haha oha psychedelic like it maybe watch some of those close to sharp moments on the main pad
haha such a wierd groove nice
stockhausen vibes
yeah what could you change hm nothing and everything? lol no its nice maybe make an outro and check for some sharp freq spots

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
@psychs420
dig the intro really mellow
this is nice man tbh :3 dig it more than your dungeonesc stuff has a personal note
yeah dig the guitarloop you made it or sample either way its nice maybe bit too far in the back just a bit
for me my pers fav of your sunmissions so far has a lot potential
again i would say bring something big into this last section to make it stand out horns? brass? dunno not sure what but i feel theres sth what could complete this super nice
but yeah really like it so far
@LTUK
yeah like the pluck ♥ love every pluck nice melody too love the arpy but still melody thriller or what its called
yeah dig it this low reece ♥ maybe i would even say go back on the melody and let the sub take over for a moment this way you can bring in the melody and people go like shit there it is again like
1.00-1.30 no melody or very lowpassed reverbed sth like this and than back to melody
love the drum work
really not sure about the breakbeat hm would love a straight 4 4 tune tbh
yeah honestly drop the break section haha it works but yeah not sure man
but besides that really nice and i love the reece sub

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
this, also sorry to hear about your dog, though i admit the story cracked me upnowaysj wrote:Good shit bud! You and your bro are too talented to stay underground for much longer. I think you guys need to find a hot chick vocalist or two, and start with your own vocals.
@psychs: really feeling the drums though i feel they could use more variety at times, the guitar is the tits, it should be much more present in the mix imo. also, i'd suggest hinting at it coming during the intro and/or first part before it drops, like maybe have just a note with lots of reverb, or reverse a note on the last bar of each measure, something like that. and i feel you could go crazier with the reverse effect on the guitar during the breakdown and the second part.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
@dfaultuzer Really love it man. Pretty blown away. I wish this had been released and not one of the other remixes. The percussion is lovely: and those little jingly chimes are a really nice touch. If i was being super critical, (which i guess is the whole point of this) I'd say a top melody line might be a nice addition in the second part of the first err "drop"
@Budspencertron Dark as fuck! haha. Those claps are lush as are the kick fills. i agree withh dfaultuzer that your growls could do with a little more - maybe some tube saturation or sommething to give it a bit more upper frequency bite - not too much though. That break in the middle is cool - trippy as shit - and the melody that comes in after it kinda makes it worth the long wait but its so empty idk. sick tune though!
@Sunklo Nice beat, real smooth, swung just right. Did you "drum" it in on pads? Sounds sick anyway. And the bass is really nice too. I don't know man, if this is an instrumental you're looking to get vocalled then its kinda perfect as it besides some arrangement tweaks (some drum variation and/or breakdown.) Otherwise it feels a bit like its lacking a lead line - like a fat sax or something!
@Nowaysj Twisted tune man, like something you'd hear from an 8bit patten or something! Gunning for a warp ting i like that piano arp you've got going in the background. Kicks sound a little weak to me, like I'm not really feeling them punching through at all. I feel like texturally there coud be some work done, some of the sounds are a little bit i dunno 2d.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Nah the melody is awesome. I meant the breakdown is a little sparse. i guess thats the point but I dunno a little rhythmic element might help maintain interest
