Your average mid range... Buncha saws. Route it through some sine shaper, add some voiceing, play with your EQ, im guessing thats a scream filter its being ran through as well.

It's an insert on Massive that acts as a wave shaper basically... A type of distortion

Try this preset

You can change filter type, add voicing, and some eq on mixer channel....

By doing that your only makeing it harder than what it really is... Massive is capable of all of those things internally.

@ Skratch - in NI massive you use 3 osc's. where it says spectrum at the top of each osc, click the drop down menu and click formant - do this for the oscs bar 1. And then just mess with the tuning.

Im trying to figure out this rolling type of womp i think it might be called. If you got some decent subs you can really hear the how the sub bass is sync'd with the mid freq wobble. here's 2 examples of the sound im talking about. #1. House Of Pain vs. Jantsen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBNSJc5s3oI... 02:10 - 02:22 and so on through out the track. #2. FL Studio Dubstep - "Stop Us" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JepBh7kCvCs.... 00:18 - 00:20. i hope you guys can help me out :D:

I want to break from tradition and ask if anyone knows how to make the snare in this track:

It sounds pretty simple, but just pitching up real & synthetic snares and playing with EQ doesn't even get me close! Hopefully someone can assist, ta...
Embedded track might help:
Soundcloud
sounds like a rimshot not a standard snare to me :W:
Okay I had another bash at getting this snare sound, but I can't even get bloody close!!!! Used a range of samples rims, sticks, snares, claps and layering.... :(

There's a pint in it if anyone can show me the light! :)

Vengeance Minimal House Vol.1, I swear that's where it's from. Not in the snare folder, but in the percussion one. [:

Starts with a reversed sound, although I'm unsure what it is.

Then they've used a sample of a ping pong ball bouncing and played it at different pitches to make it speed up and down.

They also reverse the sample at one point, and put it through different types of effects at other points too.

There is a synth with a fast lfo merged in which sounds like bubles/lazer...

Finally, they get some synth drums or samples and make a rhythm out of all the different noises! :)

You, sir, are very close to earning yourself a pint of best bitter :)

By the purest of luck I did purchase that very sample CD when it came out, but looking at it now there's like 400 samples in that folder! Number 123 sounds similar, but auditioning them all is something of a mind-f*ck!

Top tip for auditioning 400 samples quickly.

Enque them into Winamp and just click 'next track' if the sound clearly isn't what you need.
