What effects were you applying to get that kind of 'insect-scuttering-up-the-wall' delay effect?
Re: Gear lust

ERM Midiclock
Not sure how stable the MIDI will be in my hardware rig (early stages, will be using the 707 as the master) but saw this and thought it locked interesting.

Re: Gear lust
^^ Nice, though the lack of a case is worrying.

Schippmann Ebbe & Flut, Doepfer Dark Time & Modular
We had some modular feeling in this LP. It’s the essence of our project, trying to connect old hardware with the future of modulars, showing the two sides of our sound: the mix between the old-school and modern. To sequence the modular or the SH-101 we used the Dark Time analogue sequencer, which is really more interesting to use than a computer.
Re: Gear lust
@wub: midiclock should work well. used it once in a setup with 4 people - each having 3-4 pieces of analog gear.
nextlevel would be that world clock ting... costs hell of money though and makes sense in big studios where you want to clock 5000 things in 10 different rooms over a long period of time...

Re: Gear lust
@wub nice gear porn pix yea...the lack of case is worrying...I am not very handy, but I bet I could work something out. Also, considering all the kinda lame after market stuff TE sells for the OP-1 I wouldn't be surprised if they sold some kind of case of extra money

Re: Gear lust
Yeah like some $800 case in orange and grey.

Teenage Engineering is never going to live down the hipster/botique stigma....even if they start sending out free OP-1s with a PBR, a gram of aunt carol and a fifty dollar bill in the box...
...wait...

Re: Gear lust
Kinda like when OTO upgraded the Biscuit firmware with the Der OTO 8 Bit synth option...they didnt charge for that (cool), but they are charging 40 Euro for these rubber lay overs that go on the face of the box....lol...so hipster...and it is white with a stupid rainbow...

Oh. My. Fuck.
@Wub - the lack of a case is actually fucking awesome if you're like me or Mizz Lurvely Dibbit - who would love nothing more than to come up with a custom enclosure for it.

And really I don't care, would really really really really (hand typed, not copy pasted) want an OP-1.fragments wrote:nowaysj wrote:Yeah like some $800 case in orange and grey.

Oh yea dude...I am over it personally. The price point is a bit ritzy for me for a singal piece of gear these days...but I think they are pretty cool.nowaysj wrote:And really I don't care, would really really really really (hand typed, not copy pasted) want an OP-1.fragments wrote:nowaysj wrote:Yeah like some $800 case in orange and grey.

Re: Gear lust
Don't know how I ended up talking about Geist in here... maybe because it was my newest gear purchase, but fuck, having a shit time remixing this song... had worked up in geist stand alone, brought it into fl, so had to integrate Geists outs with fl's mixer, caused me to have to rebalance all volumes and it is like that fucking tight on the fly balance that I had before is fucking out the window... SHIT, and it is not just like setting a channels volume, I've got to go in and retweak velocities across drum patterns, and it is like the groove was so much, like, in the velocities of the drum hits, fucking groove is just falling apart as I try to rebalance.
Just some newbie pain here. Carry on.

Re: Gear lust
Why do the velocities not work? I don't really know what you mean by bringing it into FL but shouldn't it sound the same?

Catching up on news, and saw the winner of the Moogfest circuit bending contest (battery powered circuit bent synth for under $70) was a guy called George Gleixner. Did a Google hoping to find his Moogest entry and instead found a picture of his recased modular TR-626 construct;

Word document hereGeorge’s beautifully recased modular 626 features several great mods not listed above, including individual drum volumes/mutes, instantaneous fills and more. Until I figure out the best way to post this info, see the Word document linked below that he sent me for a description of how his patch bay is set up, and instructions on how to pull off these great mods.

Re: Gear lust
Don't know if there are any people with a modular/cv gate synth?
But I just discovered this, and it looks pretty neat. (But don't own a modular/cv gate synth)
