Don't worry, I'm sure it'll go wrong one way or another. It can't be too long before she realises that I'm a tit.

Yeah, we're going out for some food at a place called 'Sous le Nez', some swanky french restaurant. Thing is, she's insisted on paying (I cooked her a meal a couple of weeks back and she wants to even things up). Do you think I should go along with it or insist on paying at least half? God I'm rubbish at this shit.

Pay before she can even think about it. I.e give the waiter your card and ask for the bill!

I have completely different advice, let her pay, your both adults, both able to make decisions, she has decided to pay, let her pay it is her treat to you. Simple thing is this leaves it open for another date because you need to take her out somewhere and pay to even things out.

I'm kinda with you eLBe. If you wanna make a show of it, offer. But if she still insists on paying, let her. Its important for us to feel like we can do nice things too. Don't take that from her if she really wants to do it. :)

I'm just going on previous experiance, my ex used to like me paying but not all the time, she liked to keep things even though not necessarily in monitary value. Also have friends that actually end up in big arguments started by stupid things like who is going to pay.

definitely! let the girl pay. oh make sure you dont get cheated on the wine. good wine years in france : 1989, 1990, 2000, 2005
bad wine years: 2003 and 2004 (tell the waiter to take it back, if it's a real french restaurant, it will please them you know your wine). don't take anything after 05 (wine is too young). just a tip.

elbe, je suis out-rah-jed! but i must agree to a certain extent. sardinian wine beats the grape juice outta all wines. relatively unknown, but unforgettably divine!
