LD50 was pretty good as far as that wave of bands went. They went to shit after that though.

dubsteps shit now, and while it was the best thing in the world for a good 4/5 years, house and techno now have way much more to offer...
And I was the biggest fan dubstep had to offer for many years. And also, changing times doesnt take away from those years...

Yup. Attended every DMZ from 2006-09, then probably most until like 10/11. Owe the best nights of my life to the DMZ. They influenced my life more than anyone in my life other than my parents. Truely shaped my growing up 17-21 years. So thankful, love them for it eternally, but im half sad half excited to say that its over, and for me at least a whole new chapter of music/experiences has opened up.
Wish I could meet them for long enough to be able to impart how much thanks I have for those guys without it seeming like a weird barrage of battered bullshit. Its heartfelt, and it changed my life. When asked during a job interview a while ago who my hero is, mala was my answer. Shaped my life. Don.

What? That's not unpopular. Are there really people listening to Too Short for his rapping? He's got some awesome beats and shit so I can dig a tune, but he's a shitty ass rapper.Reverb wrote:too $hort is a bad rapper
Most rappers are bad though. Not as bad as Too Short generally, but still kinda weak. People ask fairly little from rappers in terms of skill.

Word, that's the attitude to have. I've been saying it for a couple of months now.. bring on the new thang and I got some flack for it for "dropping dubstep", but I'm not dropping it.the wiggle baron wrote:So thankful, love them for it eternally, but im half sad half excited to say that its over, and for me at least a whole new chapter of music/experiences has opened up.
Something is beautiful because it''s temporary. If it's permanent it becomes a routine and "normal". Dubstep came into existence, it developed, it peaked and it started fizzling out. It's cool, it'll make a comback in a few years sounding fresher than ever. But for now, let's just point our ears to the future and wait for something new to grab our attention.
