@ ascent - very well produced, I loved the vibe, great track

@ s3f - nice tune.. some of the levels seem to be a bit off.. I'm no pro in the department, BUT I feel it could be a lot more fully. The kick and snare should stand out a lot more.. i think if you get the levels worked out your on your way to a bangin tune

@ Craggle - huge tune, DLed, can't wait to hear it on my 18"

@ Cubicle - I'm really digging the vibe. The dark piano fits, but for some reason it seems to get old.. not really sure why because it sounds tight.

@ Psythe - the drums don't really punch through the mix.. might just be levels.. also, the snare fits.. but If you want to add a little weight to try boosting around 200-230hz or even find a good acoustic sample with some weight and add it in.

@ Specimen-Yarp - tighten up your mix and you'll have some room to give your snare more weight. Also you might want to look into resampling your bass, you're on the right track!

amidoinitrite - Nice chill vibe, I think you should really turn up that sub bass though.

Specimen-Yarp - I really like the build, but I don't like the drop to much, the bass sounds kind of weird.. Maybe switch it up with something else.

Iorek - I like it, it sounds like you have a sub bass layer or something that is separate, maybe turn the sub bass down and that grimey sounding one up a little bit.

Anyway, here is mine.. I know it's stiill missing alot of elements.. But any feed back appreciated.

@psythe i really like the whole intro and the melody the bass is nice. i have nothing to change other than make it longer.

@infestedpasta i like the beat and the bass the melody synth is a little to high volume (just little) and the high hats sound like its mostly on the right side.

now my tune i tried to make some trance/techno. my first time using side chaining so idk if i did it right. :?

@paravrais thanks for the feedback work is being done now. as for your tune, love the intro very chilled. i have no complaints other than the sound of that poor brass trying to yell out. dont change the line but perhaps pep it up? makes it a bit more crisp...

@ninthy4 thanks for the feed back looking into it! as for your tune heavy dark love it..no complaints

@Isley need to work on the mix and that "wobble" not really sure if im feeling that id just make that a nice "Skream - Rutten " style. over all sounds a bit dry you need some more atmosphere very plain atm keep it up.

@Krakkemikkig dont have much to pick at really, i like it alot. you have alot going on only suggestion would be to make the main synth be accompanied by another 1 or more other synths. that might be the spice to make it better.

@Psythe nice work here man like the progression but perhaps less phase on that main synth and have another synth in there to to change it up a bit. im curious to see that line go an oct higher.

@amidoinitrite as an intro very nice start man i have nothing else to add

@infestedpastaget that mix right, like the drums. its over all a bit choppy you should smooth it out.the intro seems the same as after the drop. the drop is nice like that throw up sample. keep it up.

@Specimen-Yarp im hearing alot of distortion dont know if that is suppose to be like that but doesnt sound pleasant sorry man...a little reverb might make it over all sound better. i do like the drum progression tho... very good tho keep it up

here is mine again. Soundcloud

@infestedpastaget that mix right, like the drums. its over all a bit choppy you should smooth it out.the intro seems the same as after the drop. the drop is nice like that throw up sample. keep it up.
The whole clip is just a sample of what the middle of the song would be, there is no intro yet.

Also, what do you mean by choppy?

@Specimen-Yarp the main melody has some distortion effect *muddy* if you will the synth at 1:22 is distorted like i said not sure if its meant to be like that.. to my ears its a little rough around the edges but thats me. also a pinch of reverb may give it some more depth.

@ infestedpasta got that now :) but the transition from synth A to B (0:29 to 0:30) just seems a little harsh. i mean i could be being too picky although to me is sounds a bit odd. to fix just find a way to blend the 2 together.

Hey people thanks a bunch for the feedback it really helped me out:

I'll reply to the feedback i got first,

@ Miyan, Nice advice there i kinda took your idea and made a breakdown a little way through dropping out the pads and shuffled up the beat a bit.

@ Leviticus, I couldn't really find a decent place to drop sweeps in, it seemed to jarr up with the mellodies quite a bit so instead i screwed about with a different synth pad and filled out the intro with some chords that sit in with the C minor mellody, i used E flat as the tonal but kept the chords in the key of C minor (can't think of the name of the Mode here, i'm not to good with terminology). So nice one for inspiring that one. Also in regard to your comment on volume, i know! I pushed all the tracks right down so i had enough overhead to get stuff sitting right when i got to the mixdown, which i have done now. So be sure to check that out and tell me what you think about the levels.

@ The Other Drug, Not sure what you meant by tracers, but your idea of using panning came in handy. I've used slow LFO's on the mid-high pad and also I've signal split the high end of the hats, added a bit of Phase and Chorus and used another slow LFO on the panning. Its really added an element to the track more psycho-acoustic than its weight in technicality! Definitely one to remember! Cheers.

@ Kid Strange, I've not so much changed up the Hat pattern. I've actually gone through the whole tune and switched up the drums where i felt it needed it. Took me a whole day! But i'm happy with the drum pattern now much nicer and playful, not so monotonous any more.

Anyway. Here's the new version. Note the (attempt) at the mix down, all the levels are sitting in mix as far as i'm concerned bar a few minor tweaks here and there and the whole thing has been bought up to just under 0dB, Compressed slightly, diff freq specs panned slightly and a lil bit of compression. My ears aint as good as some of yours so i would still like some feedback on levels and whatnott. Cheers!

I'll get round to giving back feedback shortly, i just need to nip out for half an hour and my lady is pretty much standing waiting for me to get my ass off the computer! lol.

@infestedpasta- I like the "ooaaaaggh" and glass braking sounds, but the synth isn't just right, imo.
@Specimen-Yarp - Nice vocals ! Luv the percs also. Not bad. Im into it and keeps me going ! // ( is it just me or something sounds too "crunchy" and dry there ?
@dmisreal - Sorry, man, got no feelings about your techno. : (
@kidstrange - nice, atmoshpheric and deep sounds. got nothing bad to say.
@turnipish thoughts - the whole track sounds a bit weak... but yeah, nice and melodic.

Psythe: Heavy tune. I feel the bass is far to treble heavy though - hurts the ears. Bass line gets a bit too repetitive as well.

Specimen: Not bad. The low quality makes it hard to judge. Nice elements, and good variation.

Infestedpasta: Need to work on the high hats. Snare is weak. Worth working on.

Dmisreal: Not bad. Really not keen on the 'eerie' chords... for a trance/techno song it should be more "uplifting". Drums need far more variation - like some fills or drop outs.

Kidstrange: Nice atmosphere. Would like to hear the keys more louder in the mix. Could do with more foley type samples to add a even more organic sound. Particularly like the breakdown in the middle - maybe use a 100% reverb on the drums and slowly bring it down to the drop for more atmosphere.

z6z: Feels very trippy and unsettling. I do like.

Heres my WIP:

@bugsky: very chill, man! not sure if it's just cuz soundcloud compresses it but I think the bass needs to be a little stronger.

Rushing out the door right now, I'll listen to some more tracks later. Her's my WIP, pretty much just chopped up sections of Bach's harpsichord concerto (BWV 1052 I think). Anyway, let me know how the EQing sounds, I've been trying to get everything balanced for a while now. This is kinda my first time using actual dubstep bass sounds haha.

@bugsky like your atmosphere. those hats are realll nice love your snare work but i feel it could have more punch to it. love that "whistley" sound that sound would go great in my tune. you might want a break where it all just settles down leaves you hanging out in space then sucks you back in... yesyes..

@Sonic Arts first of all i have to say this is great and this is the 2nd dubstep song ive heard with orchestral work in it other than Tombas Symphony 666 (if you know more please tell me) unfortunately i dont have subs on my pc with net so i only feedback on over all song. also agree that soundcloud sometimes make things a little compressed happened to me...i have nothing to really add sep make the "wobble" louder keep it up

psythe- get ta stepping, i like it. not reallly digging the phased synth rising and falling but preferences are preferences, kinda heavy, you done a good job on the call and answer synth style you got going on. think just 2 uses of the get ta stepping would have been sufficient though.

specimen- really muddy sounding, think the beat could use a little variation in the actual verse. i like the drop, but the synth doesnt go with it.

dm- i mean its really basic, but your getting the gist i suppose, i would change up the deeper chords they just dont flow. and throw some change ups and what not. but i mean you got the bare necessities down.

kid strange- i like the intro, has personality - nice groovin beat and all, drop is very nice. really dig this tune, laid back and very chill, super sub whats not to love. nice man

t-thoughts- drum need a little more punch to them, but as stated above its nice and chill man. just bring up the drums a little bit so they aren't so behind everything else. i really like the change in drums you pull though. really unique almost dnb sounding at a slower pace

z6z- not really alot to say, i mean. i dig it but it needs work. the synth you got going constantly kills the vocals behind it, nice use of synths though thank god it isnt yoi yoi yoi

bugsky- i like the intro very trancey, kick drums a little weak. but atleast your synth isnt overpowering everything. its a nice medium, i like the atmosphere you got going alot. just bring up the kick drum a little bit and you got a banger. id throw it in a mix for sure

sonic- hahah i love the nice piano work, everything sounds pretty good, the percs need a little working over but so far so good. not feeling the synth though, sounds like a youtube wobble, everything else is good. i think give that a little working over and the perc and you will be smooth

well after criting the entire page
here have a free download, bout to put it in the dubs section

@tiger widow the sub bass modulation fits perfectly, sweet piano melodies going on

@z6z hard snare, liking the voicey ambients going on in the background, id take that out before the drop though to give it more of an effect!

@bugsky 1.00 onwards im in the clouds, awesome chill tune, the pads are great

@sonic arts mate, big credit to your creativity, one funky tune, sweet mastering too

here my track, some sweeps need adding here and there, but ill get round to that at the end, let me know what could be added/improved :)
