I love how half the people posting in this thread being all defensive saying this "collab" will be sick can't even spell rihanna's name the right way

i hate the word hater too...

wasnt going to post anything but I just feel like im going to burst if I dont say anything...

90% of everyone on here doesnt get what trying to/making a career out of music is all about. This is a massive deal, pop stars today are not necessarily like the megastars of yesteryear but then they didnt have the internet to argue on in those days and thus, nothing to sway personal opinion. Im not a massive fan of chase and status (Bits is banging) but I 100% respect what they are doing. They have aimed high, whats the point of just making music for a select few people that happened to like a couple of the first tunes they made? If you're an artist you don't tend to think about the guy that bought your first tune, you just make tunes because you genuinly love making those tunes and you want to get somewhere. You want as much exposure as possible, whats wrong with that, all art needs exposure doesnt it? You see a painting by Goya on bbc2 you dont think "fucking sell out" do you?

By denying this collaboration you deny everyone the chance of making a great piece of music with a great artist and you deny yourself the chance to enjoy a great piece of collaborative music, for examples sake Thom Yorke and burial??? Whats the difference here? Thom Yorke has sold more albums than riannah, is it not the same sort of exposure for burial????

Also on one hand its art but on the otherhand you want to reach as many people as possible, thus make more money, it makes sense surely? Why wouldn't you.

Anyone, at the drop of a hat if asked to would go make a tune with riannah, fuck it anyone would make a tune with fucking geri halliwell if asked to and dont say otherwise...Youd make a tune the way you want to make it with her singing on it and it would be fine.

I disagree with so many people's opinions on this forum day in day out, usually i cant be arsed to write anything cos it just sucks the life out of me but its late im pissed and my laptop was handy so fuck it...

The world was also in outrage when it was announced that Premo was to work with Christina Aguilera and Premier proved all the haters wrong and just did good music, in fact some of that stuff was among his best work in years and I'm as far from a Christina Aguilera fan as it gets.
Caspa remixed Depeche Mode, Skream remixed Dave Gahan, Benga remixed Faithless... nobody was hating on them for that either

Premo and Aguliera was what i was thinking abt when I first heard about this; very similar arguement

Skream has it down, I'm pretty sure he is making enough money to live, has a gold record and yet has also produced one of my most anticipated records forthcoming on swamp 81 as well as Memories of 3rd Base coming out on Digital Soundbwoy.

just remembered about this thread, and apparently they've been playing it out at festivals, anyone got any audio for it, curious as to how this sounds?

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

Chase and Status don't make dubstep anyway... OTHER MUSIC FORUM tbh.

But since this is here, might as well make it a point to say that I'd rather listen to her shit pop music than theirs. Who cares if it is commercial or not.. is it good? And the answer will be no. I know this because I like absolutely fucking none of their tunes since time began. Why start now?

"Give them a chance"

I have for years and they've let me down every time. Next. :i:

That said, as a producer you'd be stupid to not expose your name to millions of people and people claiming they wouldn't are full of fucking shit. I do find it particularly appalling that so many who think that making harder tunes simply because they sell well, rather than deep tunes which will not out of sheer profit motive is such a bad thing... same people who cheer on Chase and Status for this move... a bit stupid tbh...

producers with production as a job... it's a job. To thine own self be true and all that. But that doesn't mean I have to like it, nor will I be silent about not liking it.

producers making "hard" tunes arent necessarily selling out, neither people who make "deep" tunes arent any better than anyone else jus cos there staying true to an original sound,
dubstep is so vast
embrace all styles and
each to thier own
