Westwood does this to everyone. Check his interviews with Asher Roth or Skepta for example. Only people who take themselves too seriously get offended. Funny as fuck

Westwood does make me chuckle sometimes.. He reminds me of Dennis Pennis when he goes off on one, but less funny and a bit more of a knob..

As far as C&S are concerned, they're just the thing of the moment. I remember Skreams remix of La Roux being massive, and Benga & Coki - Night being on the pop tv channels.. C&S have made some corkers in my eyes, they're just gash DJs that should stick to producing.. If it annoys, ignore it (as seems to be the general consensus in this thread..).

Yeah, sorry I didn't bring much to the table here..

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

Can't be arsed to read through all this thread so apols if someone's already said this...

All they had to say when he said "I can't dance to dubstep" was "yeh mate, that's because it's British rhythms... and it's for YOUNG people!"

Westwood is funny though.

I personally think Westwood went on the offensive as he might be intimidated by dubstep or by something new (to him). Dubstep is moving in hiphop circles now, from Rhianna to Wutang and Westwood might feel threatened by that as I would imagine he wont know the first thing about dubstep, comments like "I cant find the beat" kinda hammer this home for me.

Chase & Status on the other hand, music aside.....Can you not think of any sort of retort? No cutting wit to knock him back with? Christ it was like watching a puppy get dropped into the underside of a lawn mower

I think you nailed it there.

I guess Chase & Status just lived in the studio for too long! Every time I see them interviewed they give the impression that they're a bit uncomfortable in daylight, without screens all round them...

Westwood will probably have the fucking 1Xtra dubstep show in a year or so.

Still, I can't hate Westwood. He's just too shameless.

lol I'm on this as well - got a feeling tunes gonna be real special just like Westwood! No points to C & S for letting the inspiration for Ali G diss them with no comebacks tho, I guess they're just too credible for that shit

That's it. He doesn't give a fuck. He called himself "the Alan Partridge of hip hop" FFS, he knows what time it is.

I have for years maintained that Westwood is on a wind up.

He might quite possible be a comedy genius, absolutly rinsing artists while maintaining a look of being actually involved in the scene. He's like an undercover ali G where he still spouts the bull shit but thick people in the industry take him deadly seriously.

One day im praying to god I turn on Radio (whatever he is on) and in a nice posh english voice exposes himself as actually hating hip hop, everyone in the industry and black people.

I wouldn't go that far - I think he genuinely loves hip hop, but he is TOTALLY aware of the absurdity of a bishop's son from East Anglia championing the music of American ghettoes.

Isn't Tim Westwood something of the bedrock of UK hiphop? Of course he could give two shites about some dubstep or dnb! Man's been reppin since 198something!

who the hell's Westwood?

it doesn't really seem like his opinion is worth caring about.
