I don't see why the site owner/admins can't just make a chatroom for the forum ON the page :\ It would save the unnecessary creation of random chatrooms everywhere... If it was linked on the forum page you could just go on, post your posts, click the 'CHAT' button and everything would be fun days

Ok guys, I have a solution;

Download mIRC from... you guessed it, mirc.com

Open it up and goto tools / Options

Expand that Connect Tab, click Servers.

Change IRC Network to Quakenet and pick any IRC server as long as its Quakenet.

Connect to the Server

Once you have connected, type in /join dsf

The great thing about Quakenet is once you have 5 people in the chan for a set time you can apply for an L bot which will protect the channel and perform auto tasks for you like banning people, giving people op status, etc. I'm sure many have used it before so i wont go on.

The room can also have a password to keep randomers coming in.

I also recommend we use IRC for the fact that you can change the settings to have IRC go to the taskbar when minimized, and make it open on start-up straight to taskbar, so there's less clutter and you don't have to keep going to a website and logging in each time. There's also something called the 'perform' which can be found in 'options' under the servers tab in the mirc options - this allows you to give mIRC auto-tasks when it opens, like /join dsf and login with quakenet.

You can also get register yourself with the network so that you can be given auto-op and people can identify you by your login, not just the nick you use (prevents trolls).
