Sorry, just to be clear - I mean: may never have one of their own songs released on vinyl.

I stand by that. It's the trend - vinyl releases are fewer than they were 10 years ago by a factor of 10 or more. Similarly, a "successful" record today's sales are a 1/10th what they were 10 years ago. It's harder for labels (many of whom really do work hard to expose good music) to justify the financial risk of pressing vinyl.
