I thought the exact same thing. He's obviously a boss why does he have to act like that

I was on stage the whole time and youre absolutely wrong. There were a lot of dubstep's most important on that stage and we were ALL joking around, mostly celebrating our success since we've all known each other for years. To the audience it may have looked like he was trying to ruin the vibe but it was just horsing around.
Kinda unprofessional but when you're all mates I suppose it's hard NOT to muck about just a bit..
Ya.. all of us have known each other MAD long, so it was pure horsing aroung. Let me tell you, I was on that stage and it made me SO proud to see folks I've been friends with, worked with over the years and we're all doing our thing, and doing it big. From the djs, to management, to agents, we were all on that stage, and we're all tight.

I hope this ends this discussion, its crazy how people can overthink things they see.
I think this is missing the point. I'm sure everyone on stage was having a good time and felt proud at how far they had come together, it's just that the audience was going apeshit over 12th Planet's set and as far as I could tell the guerilla beat repeats and rewinds were only entertaining to the people on stage. Reading the replies to this thread, it looks like a lot of people agree, but a lot of people enjoy the humor and personality Skream brings to his show, so really I'm guilty for having had certain expectations without actually looking into what his live persona was like.

to summarize: i shouldnt criticize Skream for doing his thing cuz lots of people dig it, but personally i wont make a serious effort to see him again

Anyone who knows them, knows what to expect when they see em... I definitely think they're B2B shows on CDJs have improved drastically in the last 12 months, Skream especially.

I really don't mind if they play bad though when I see them, I'm just happy to be in the presence of such talented/hard working producers.

these are the worst, i use to be into hardcore (more 2-steppy, less emoey) about 5 or so years ago and i've slowly noticed plenty old faces slowly drifting over to the dubstep scene (although it's different cause i'm not in the states')

Stop gloating at the fact your friends with a few DJ's in the scene. It doesn't make you better than anyone else!

After the 8th wheelup of the same tune, it does start to get a bit stale.

seen skream and benga at fabric and matter
fabric was a fucking brilliant set, and for some reason was reasonably empty so was easy to enjoy
at matter (the gig which katy b's new vid is filmed at) although they were still good i, i didnt enjoy it at all cos it was so rammed in room 1 with so many kids going apeshit like it was a metal band or something - that's what ruined it for me far above any bad performance on skreams part.

You all goof off during a set ruining some of the fans time.

Then have the audacity to say it's ok because it was some of dubsteps most important people

likewise, i didn't make it to the show but i'm not sorry i missed it. seemed like a high profile gig, so why not take the chance to smash a good set and impress all the M.I.A. fans or whatever? rather than use it as a chance to mess around and celebrate your own success. again, i wasn't there so i'm not really judging but thats the way you make it seem @missbrass.

beginning of another thread maybe?

its all about expectations... skream and benga played trouble & bass 3 year and because trouble & bass incites that vibe from the moment you walk through the door, the shit went off proper.

skream b2b mala at dubwar 5 was legendary, but again, expectations. knowing that skream is part of the mix means you aren't going to get a deep dubbed out hour staring at the back of your eye lids.. you're getting rewinds and flangers and phasers and tear out. while that's not the part of the sound i enjoy, it was expected and i went anyway.

we should all be smiling that there are this many different angles to approach the sound. keep dubstep diverse.
