Re: Chav music
I always thought chavs listened to hardhouse like DJ Jean - The Launch or happy hardcore remixes of Scooter and Flip & Fill.

The Launch, hah!wub wrote:leyenda303 wrote:I always thought chavs listened to hardhouse like DJ Jean - The Launch

I haven't heard that tune since I was 17 and going out in the badlands of Weston Super Mare! Whoever it was that used to "DJ" Club Uropa using the same pre-mixed CD and unplugged turntables used to play it at the same time every weekend... followed by a truly atrocious mashup putting the acapella from 2Pac - Changes over the DJ Jean instrumental.
Those were

Those weren'tthe days.
One of the first tunes (if not the first tune) I ever bought on vinyl was The Launch
Re: Chav music
Fair enough, I was going by my memory of an old Ministry of Sound CD a mate used to rinse so I guess genre reliability isn't to be expected. I've just checked that CD online and the tracklisting also has Sandstorm and Blood is Pumping listed as hard house...wub wrote:leyenda303 wrote:I always thought chavs listened to hardhouse like DJ Jean - The Launch

Re: Chav music
I would say they're both Hard House... I'd forgotten all about Operation Blade... haha. Some extremely fun times that are NEVER to be repeated were had to that and songs that sounded oddly identical to it... I've never really worked out if it's supposed to be a remix of New Order - Confusion or just a rip-off?leyenda303 wrote:Sandstorm and Operation Blade
Being 17 in North Somerset was difficult in 1999... but MUCH fun was had.

The Launch is not hard house.it also has Operation Blade on it which also seemed to be crazy popular with the chavs but I'm guessing isn't hard house either? What does constitute hard house then? Lisa Lashes?
Lashes is hard house, yes.
Her first Hard House Euphoria was (and probably still is) a quality mix.

Re: Chav music
A lot of the former neds near i live are now buying skinny jeans, growing their hair and are listening to the worst nu metal/pop punk/emo stuff imaginable. They still talk and act the exact same as they ever have though.
The neds that do dress the same listen to your arctic monkeys/oasis etc. style pish now instead of the shite eurodance with a squeaky voice sort of stuff.
Times change it seems...
