Oh hai thar haterz... just going to say one thing: DEAL WITH IT! :W:

Music evolves. And come on you oldschool whiners... I would rather listen to Skrillex than most of the deep dubstep that's out there, and that's also what ALOT of people want from the genre. I want something with a groove and not something that you get stoned to.

As much as Getdarker and Darkside have done for the scene isn't this down to also down to that shitty "THIS IS DUBSTEP"

It's harsh to say it as Darkside is such a decent guy, but I swear from the start that was just a moneymaking scheme for himself and commercialised the scene by selling it in HMV.

Anyone else slightly agree? I mean comeon it's called "This Is Dubstep", fair enough he's making money but he sold the scene out a bit?

Maybe i'm chatting rubbish and have viewed it from the wrong angle... but I reckon my hypothesis is correct! haha

Groove? I don't listen to much brostep, but I haven't heard a track I'd say has groove, whereas people like Benton/Shredexx/"deep" dubstep, check out the drums on that, how they interact with the rest of the track. They've got some serious groove.

Halftime drums don't just have to be KICK.... SNARE.... KICK.... SNARE. Swear, a lot of brostep producers are allergic to hi-hats.

Is a cool hi-hat pattern the only way to build up a cool groove? No. How about open up your ears people? Analyse that shiznit. You'll find out that as a whole, it can be groovy as fuck. I wouldn't call some syncopated drum rythms with wobbles in some minor scale for good music. Neither would I dance to it. But, if you wan't to be underground then be it. Hating others for what they do is just a serious waste of time. :a:

for me "this is dubstep" is the most well balanced dubstep compilation in terms of displaying all aspects of the genre. the advert might be full of the same "mid range gash" but the tracklist itself is very well balanced. and the bit in bold highlights your contradiction. in conclusion, you are a moron for thinking that.

I wouldn't consider Skrillex's music as music that has a groove... early dubstep like El-B has the most groove to me

No, but it's a lack of attention to the drums that gets to me with most of the brostep I've heard. It's not the only way to build a good groove, but it can play a big part. I just don't feel any groove from the brostep I've heard, that's all. I don't give a shit if it's underground or what, I'm still gonna rinse Digital Mystikz - Misty Winter when it gets to number one, and I'm still gonna hit the off button on Bass Cannon when hipsters in 20 years time start playing it because its cool and retro. :cornlol:

Skrillex seems to taking a lot of people's attention away from other big movers, like whats everyone thinking about the new Skream remix? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdbVXYGiodQ
