I thought that's what any straight thinking producer did?

I like how the deep stuff implies the darkness or filth etc.

While the brostep just seems to go ANGRY ANGRY ANGRY.

If you can't hear the sub-bass on this shit, then your bass-o-meter is broken (or youtube's compression fucked it up)

And yes, there are a ton of garbage jump-up tracks. Just like any genre of electronic music, you have to sift through piles of trash to find the gems. But to deny the gems for all the trash is just ridiculous. What never gets talked about is all the shitty Deep tracks out there. Cuz there are a ton.

Everything you just said is totally legit

I don't get people going "awww, dubstep's dead" "borgore killed dubstep" "fuck wobbles, any senseless tnuc can make them" "awwww, the mainstream is ruining dubstep" "fuck this shit, it all sounds the same"

If you're one of the people who shares these views, maybe it hasn't occured to you that a genre is only as dead as the listeners, and that maybe, seeing as these producers to put time and effort into what they do they deserve the credit and the status.
And if people hadn't started pushing boundaries, the style you love would probably also sound the same...

Mid-range, jump-up, aggy, these are all preferable. Even mid-range cack. And really? Brostep over filth? Brostep seems so derogatory...

there's plenty of good bro stuff
just wayyyyyyyyyyy too much shitty wannabes and generic clones with shit production value and content
that and most of the fans who only know brostep and nothing beyond it are obnoxious and annoying as hell

at least brostep doesn't lead to all the retarded filthier than... shit
most genre/subgenre names are shit or mildly retarded anyways -w-

I guess the only reason "brostep" gets my back up is that it implies we're all fucking idiots that are all, "Bro, did you hear that shit? It was all Whaaa whaaa whump whump WHUUUUUMMMP, wobble wobble wick-a-wick-a-wick WHOOOOOOOOMP... Brooooo, makes me wanna swim in a pool of vomit and aids infested spooge yo. Fuck yeah, bros unite." Truth is, in my humble opinion, production-wise, aggy shit is really really exacting, more so than much of the deep shit out there. Not to say deeper dubstep is easy to make. Cuz done well, its not. I find value in both. And the best dubstep, imo, contains elements of both. The old tension and release bit.

yea i'm not dismissive of any genre or subgenre, just with the aggy stuff it takes a lot of sifting for me to find something that stands out
it's like sifting for gold through all the dirt and mud is the best analogy i can think of
ffs i toss some borgore tunes and stuff in my sets time to time for example, if i dig the tune regardless of subgenre and i think it will fit my set in it goes, but i'm also playing dj sets as a journey not as all out hype or one subgenre
it's a matter of being able to read the crowd and control it at the same time

That's both realistic and honest. Exactly what I'm on about. I'm not exclusively partial to either. Good is good. Period.

The whole point of calling it "brostep" is to be derogatory. The term was made up by this forum, and there's not much more derogatory than the main dubstep sections.

I would take it a step further and say that as a good mix is a journey, so is an individual track. At least, those are the tracks I tend to gravitate towards. All head-banging all the time is never a treat, same goes for all drones and reverb. Gotta strike a balance and take the listener down a path. I attempt this in my music, however poorly at times. Case in point, sig track.

I know theres brostep with beasty subs but there is a lot with hardly any at all, iv played some fairly decent bro tunes on my room speakers which includes a fairly large subwoofer, only to find a disappointing lack of sub which thus ruins the song for me. bear in mind i called the tune decent before hand having listened to it on a pair of shitty headphones, which fooled me into thinking it had was bassy.

Oh ok, I see now... That track reminds me of a toned down Drumsound and Simon Bassline Smith track.
