My first week in Leeds some absolute wasters pulled a hammer out on me and asked me to empty my pockets. I think they both presumed I'd never seen a bit of trouble in my life and would just shit it, but I walked in between them and as I'd presumed they didn't do fuck all (it was broad daylight, I lolled). Point is people do get robbed, people do get jumped, but I wouldn't worry too much. There's no "street justice" thing where "idiots" get robbed - the idiots are the ones out there doing the robbing. Just keep your head down and your wits about you when you're in a scummy area and you'll more than likely be fine. I've been chilling in Leeds/Manchester since 2007 and we've only had trouble a handful of times.
now have unconditional offers from kingston for creative music technology and from TVU for applied sound engineering. any experiences or info on these courses would be sick, been to see kingston and it looked like a good uni, only worry i had (and the tutors) was the fact i dont play an instrument and all my music theory knowledge is self taught, and you need a fair bit of music knowledge to do it. going to see thames valley next month, the sound engineering course sounds a bit more up my street but i dont want it to just be like plugging in shit and understanding how a speaker works for idiots kind of thing.

Exactly. My rule of thumb is don't look or talk to anyone and you're all good
Applied to Birmingham, Aston, BCU, Nottingham, and Coventry all for BSc in psychology. So far i have a conditional offer from Birmingham so all i need to do now is get the grades i need from the 8 exams i have in the summer .
A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be.

Would people say its more important to go to a well respected university with good course or somewhere you feel youll enjoy yourself more?
Go for the course closest to what you're after, if you've applied for a course thats the best of its kind, but don't really feel its the ideal one for you, but found another one where you feel happy with it go for that one

ah fair one!
(didnt do much revision for my A levels tbh, to busy being depressed b2b getting stoned )
still got unconditional offers from both unis i applied to tho! merked the personal statement
good luck with all your exams etc, then smash up the summer
Will hopefully be graduating in Business at King's this year.
Makes me feel like a proper arsehole. Been completely out of place.
Rents would have disowned me if I didn't do either that or Economics, though.
Has been fairly interesting though. Quite a bit more sociology and politics than I imagined. Have 1 night to do a 3500 page analysis of a FTSE 100 company - picked the one that makes microchips for Apple - and am finding it strangely interesting.
