"I don't listen to what art critics say. I don't know anybody who needs a critic to find out what art is. "
Jean-Michel Basquiat

"These critics with the illusions they've created about artists - it's like idol worship. They only like people when they're on their way up... I cannot be on the way up again. "
John Lennon

"You don't want to dwell on your enemies, you know. I basically feel so superior to my critics for the simple reason that they haven't done what I do. Most book reviewers haven't written 11 novels. Many of them haven't written one."
John Irving

Those quotes are all well and good but how they apply to the bulk of this discussion I don't know.

And how the fuck was your backslapping attempt any better than my comment???

you could do with a bit of critique in your posts fractal, not everything is 'amazing'.

There is quite a lot of people/events/songs/whathaveyou in dubstep that I would put under the general heading of amazing, fantastic, transcendent, or downright incredible, and I feel that fractal's comments on them/it is usually spot on. There are a few people on the dsf whose opinions I respect, and fractal is one of them.

Think about it

Preeeetty sure most people don't go to DMZ to hear brostep. Any DJ who doesn't know the crowd he's playing to shouldn't be there.

sorry, as much as skream & benga? i dont think so, as much as i love american producers (and i do) none of them had quite the same influence as skream & benga did. theres no denying that.

WHAT IM SAYING IS .... it shouldn't matter who they are. the stuff they played, if it was anyone else playing that shit people would have chased them out the building with pitchforks and torches . the amount of shit you brits give us americans for brostep (as if we invented it) it's just a blatant double standard
