I was joking. If it wasn't obvious!
But I do think a lot of bandwagon-jumping is going on. This isn't a new phenomenon though, happens every time some subgenre / wave /movement starts getting some attention. Fortunately some good music gets made in the process!
How did we get from Dubstep to House?

Loefah started putting out more house inspired stuff on Swamp and the average user on here was like "this is fiyah! this is my 2010 tip" (possibly without even hearing it first).
So then they bought up all the Boddika stuff etc, but of course had to also buy more stuff to mix with it, so bought some slightly older releases on Hessle and so on (when these were originally released they were probably blissfully unaware stuff like this existed).
This would explain it's recent popularity, coupled with the fact the 140bpm halfstep stuff is declining in popularity due to being done to death by everyone for a few years, also nobody has an attention span long enough these days to not get bored by something very quickly, before needing something new to get into.
This is the kind of person who says "PEOPLE ONLY HATE SKRILLEX BECAUSE HE'S POPULAR. DUBSTEP PURISTS HATE ANYTHING THAT IS POPULAR. YOU ONLY LIKE DEEP STUFF BECAUSE MALA TOLD YOU TO AND YOU WANT TO FOLLOW THEW CROWD"
i have never EVER met anyone in my LIFE who actually followed that reasoning.

So, first post but long time lurker...
For me this change in direction is only a good thing because for th first time in a good few years I've been enjoying going out to clubs again. As much as I love the deep half-step and enjoy it on big systems, it's not party music for the most part.
When I first started going to nightclubs (unfortunately this was about 15 years ago) DJs would play lots of different styles over a night; house, techno, faster, slower, etc... DJs played what was good.
At this moment I'm listening to a Oneman set that has hip-hop, garage, house, techno and dubstep in it and this newer sound that you're talking about fits perfectly into this and more importantly, it works in clubs.
The likes of Oneman, Jackmaster, Bok Bok, L-Vis, Loefah, Joy O, etc... are keepin the clubbing scene fresh and interesting. If this isn't your thing then don't worry, there's loads of good half step being made too.
Imagine the uproar if Burial's next album is housey!
P.S. A lot of my house-purist mates would tell you that none of this is hous music
