my old man doesn't listen to much music at all, just classic rock radio (though he listens to talk back more than that). my old lady has quite eclectic tastes, she's never shown much interest for dubstep though.

mom might like burial.

to my dad, it's all just loud noise.

the old bastard listens to tom petty sometimes, but that's pretty much it.

my dad was feeling most the Mala i showed him, not so much the new coki though.

i thought after showing him Alicia he'd all be like "IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH THE 100 IT'S GOING FOR ON DISCOGS"
haha, just can't justify it.

but yeah, my dad also enjoys early skream (Summer Dreams etc)

anything with a nice melody, or serious musical elements, he likes a few of mine.. but i know which ones he actually likes, and the ones he's just being a dad

The only 'recent' music my mom likes is Crystal Castles and the only thing me and my dad both really liked was like.. free/avant-garde jazz. Though he also really loved drumming in like.... technical death metal bands. Though he had some sort of understanding and respect for the breakcore I made, he thought it was hilarious. He was 67 at the time.

I remember some older thread from 2006 on here asking everyone's ages and basically the only one's below 35 were the producers we all know and love and most of these fans were people who were in their 20s around the hardcore/jungle era.

My mom likes Church music. :H:

Anything even remotely open minded or beyond her thoughts is pretty much satanic.
She associates incense with weed.
My Step-dad is more of an old-school rocker but still waaaay too into Jesus to appreciate without commenting about certain aspects.
My dad is more open minded but generally doesn`t like the music I play.

Then again, I haven`t lived at home for 14 years so what difference does it make.

My dads 75 and I caught him whistleing the synth to Meanstreak - Distance the other day. Can't skank for shit though. Everytime im having a mix he walks in and does the "Will from inbetweeners" stoned/throw ya arms in the air gesture.

My mum is/was a huge reggae and dub fan so she doesn't mind a few bits. She liked Coki's Celestial Dub which did surprise me and few Mala joints like Sinners and and Like the Way You Shuold. Was listening to Return ii Space in the car, she liked Unexpected, but changed her tone when Pop Pop Epic came on.

I don't think my dad is keen on it at all, but I wouldn't expect him to.

When i was listening to burial in my car, giving my mum a lift,
she asked me 'is this one of your tunes that you make'
in a way that could have been translated to 'what is this shit'

the fact she compared me to burial made me happy,
the fact she thought the tune was shite, upset me.
