i gotta say, i think that how important the drums are is entirely based on the artist's/song's style...

i personally find the drums in this song simple, but i think they also kick fucking ass, and really are the heart of the song.

i wouldnt say those drums are simple haha
by simple, i meant that there are only a few drums. in terms of programming and rhythm, they're quite complicated. i love these guys for this kind of stuff.

oh no, my house tune is slowly turning into dubstep =(

it sounds kinda generic to me as house but quite a bit more interesting with some dubstep elements in there...although i might do it without a bassline actually

if by dubstep influence you mean stuff like the minimal techno/dubstep axis from about 08-09 that's cool. like, delays, shuffle, atmosphere, SPACE. and lotsa sub of course.

I would say it sound even older...added some chunky, garagey breakbeats to it on top of the drum machines...the kick hits REALLY hard though, so i feel like i might not even need to add a sub or bass to it. once i start to arrange it i'll see if it feels like it needs it...i can already tell this one is going to be a huge pain in the ass to arrange though.

update: bass added. this is no longer house. sorry guys
