Fuuuuu nice man, i just gave it a go, not the entire process, but the basics of it on Ableton with the sampler. Bloody awesome, :D thanks for sharing man :)

SMART! I pulled my bass out of a kick drum as well, mid range out of a snare. I just zoomed in Live Simpler to a single wave and set it on a loop. For my sub was the kick and just added a few filters and compressed the shit out of it to fix a problem i was having with the attack. Sounded good actually! Mid-range was a bit harder, but the external function of vocoder helped out alot.
