I think glowsticks etc are a very rave thing full stop, doesnt really matter which country. That video is very tame compared to happy hardcore rooms at uk raves 10+ years ago, those people are virtually goths in comparison.

Best raves Ive ever been to were absolutely packed with glowsticks, gas masks, boiler suits, people on stilts, horns and whistles everywhere, thats what big raves were all about. It wasnt about caring how people were dancing or what they were waring, it wasnt about musical elitism. It was about chucking a handful of pills down your neck and going for it proper on the dancefloor beside a girl in a pink ballet getup and a bloke waring a particle mask and a pair of ski goggles, get on your swimming trunks and white gloves, its gonna be a night of filthy, sweaty, no holds barred hedonistic mayhem.

Im an old git now and I enjoy spending my nights pounding out younstas latest rinse podcast through my headphones at 1 in the morning with a smoke. But if I wanted to go to a rave Id rather wash 2 microdots down with an 8 pack of larger and get wild at that club in the video than go mope about at some thinking mans post-rave nod-off full of people who think anyone who likes to have a proper rave is obviously some sort of moron. Being self conscious and judgmental is about as far away from the concept of raving as you can get outside of a Perry Como afternoon in a retirement home. Ok, the video was very tame both in terms of how all out they were going and in terms of the music when you stack it beside proper uk raves, but give em a chance init, theyre new to it all, at least theyre not listening to soulja boy or some shit like that.
