My first year this year and personally for me, was everything I wanted it to be. I understand on the intimacy issues peeps are having, but with them increasing the capacity and adding the dock and main stage I didn't feel it was too rammed. I also felt like the "Hipsters" tended to lean towards the main stages so the fort arenas were left for the heads.

Sets of the weekend? wow where Do i start. Ikonika and Kode 9 were amaze on the Thursday. Hearing wooglut on that system was an outer body experience. Black box boat party was viiiiiiibes. T_! Smashed it hard. Matt U, Madd and Ruckspin dropped riddim after riddim. (Shame bout the boozy kids at the front kept on knocking the needles) They got told though ; )
Obv didn't leave the DMZ stage all night. Heard everytune I wanted to. Someone mentioned Swish vip. I got this on video, but was it a remix/vip? After the drop didn't sound anything like it (Still fucking large though) Out of reach, Airbreaker, 7 breaths remix, just the whole DMZ night was viiiiibes.
Saturdays deep medi boat was special. So many sound people. Out to Tunnidge for giving me the time of day when i was once again a pissed state. And loving Pokes' banter "TUNNIDGE, IV BEEN WATCHING YOU FROM AFAR! I GOT DUST IN ME LUUUUNG"

After deep medi it was staright to the dungeon to watch T_! murder another 3/4 deck set. Slightly embarassing telling Goli (which I didnt realise it was him at the time) to step away from the decks as to not knock anything over during T_! set
Then can't remember much after that.

Sunday was me birthday (what a way to end the festival) missed the tectonic boat :( But went and caught the icu stage on the beach all them lads drunk as fuck having it behind the decks, pure jokes. Then Phaeleh closing the beach was........(words can't describe) i even cried a lil at the end.
Went back to the apartment and got my drink on hard, which unfortunatley turned me into a bit of a dubstep diva dick ed and stood ranting through most of Skreams set.
Rest of the sunday consisted of Truth (had to hear the emperor on a massive rig) Girl unit were amaze. And to finish off the festival my boys Swiss and Daddy Genius destroyed Noahs ballroom, twas very emotional.

Large up everyone i met this year, im already counting down the days.

Outlook festival I :Q: you,

out to you mate (ben btw met u at DMZ and then again at Biomes set) always nice to meet people who are on the same wavelength

yeh distance dropped this during his b2b with Icicle (1 of my fav sets of the festival), i saw him later on in the ballroom and he said it was his own remix, prefer the original by miles but still went off...
im with everyone else saying that although this year was sick it had nothing on the pure vibes and intimacy of last year, there were too many wannabe rude boy/scene kids who hadnt a clue about the music, going around fucked startin beef or just being general knobs however i did expect this with the increased capacity and to an extent certain aspects of the lineup..

highlights of the festival for me were..

Black Box boat party was fuckin quality also big ups to the free t shirt and vinyl give aways!
Biome in the Ballroom
Icicle b2b distance and then icicles dnb set after
Vivek vs Goth Trad (actaully whole DMZ night was sick)
Pinch in the Moat

also the beach bar for the post rave-raves was giving me so many jokes

Big up Outlook hopefully i shall be returning

Pinch in the moat????? Fook my life. Did not clock that on the line up :u: The moat system was heavy.

And a Distance remix of Swish def makes sense.

pinch was in the moat as part of the swamp81 night down there- was followed by loefah, boddika, zed bias, oneman. as such it wasn't the darker and deeper set you might have wanted to hear on that system, so don't lament! (still good tho, mostly toward the end.. was really feeling the last 20 minutes or so before loe came on)

The system in the moat was superb. Loud and bassy, but with enough clarity that you could have a conversation with the person next to you without having to shout and cover your ear. It was even better a couple of towers back. Well in.

Wish I was sober enough to enjoy Moat81 without ending up dancing alone really obnoxiously to Loefah.

I like this pic: https://picasaweb.google.com/1083471502 ... 9837605506

:D

Other than that, to people complaining about capacity, on paper, all stages together can take a bunch more than what was there, and a lot of festivals cram more. I was at a festival this summer that was about what dockside and main stage were (we compared and it's probably the same, if not smaller) and they allowed 15.000. Just sayin'.

And yes, there's a bunch of other festivals in Croatia, more and more it would seem; Not all of them might have the capacity of outlook, but does one think all of them are immediately a cosier vibe or clean up after them? Please. There's a reason some of them only have one edition or move around nonstop.

Got back from a mini Italian excursion, post-Outlook.

I'm pretty conflicted about the overall Outlook experience. Musically, it was unparalelled. Almost impossible to knock it. But in other aspects I didn't always enjoy it. There were some swaggering twats around, but there also seemed to be loads of sound people.

Camping was a fucking pain (the Outlook 2 person tent was hilariously small!) and thanks to some tnucs jumping on it, it was broken and useless.
Toilets were fucked most of the time. Glad I didn't have to use the cash machine at all!

The Fort soundsystem was like a battering ram! :o Loved Ikonika and Kode9!
Jah Shaka on Sunday was just awesome. I wished I'd have had some weed!
DMZ night! From Ben UFO at 7, till Vivek b2b Goth-Trad at gone 3. The crowd was a bit on the idiotic side at times, but as soon as Loefah finished and Mala dropped some Bob Marley, I found a nice spot by the right tower and it turned out perfectly. Airbreaker almost caused me an injury! Track continues to send me over the edge! :h:
Great catching Loefah and Boddika in the Moat. Weird but great stage. Plenty of room to dance and nice sound.
Tried to catch T_! (the ever present figure! :D :t: ) at the Dungeon, but I think the acoustics of that place just meant I couldn't catch any of the detail in his mixing (which is off the wall if you don't know!) so I ended up skipping sadly... :(
Caught Brighton's finest Unlikely at the Ballcourt on Saturday. Out to the dsf guys I briefly met after. I think it was kay and badger, but I was too deaf and tired to properly be sure. Out to you guys though. Would have loved to chat, but I was hurrying over to the Beach to see Kurunaka 1945, who played some niiiiice stuff. Name to remember I think.
Horace Andy and Johnny Clarke with Dub Astante were brilliant on the main stage.
Loved the soundclash vibes at the dockside! Firehouse vs Mungos! Sad to miss Hessle vs Swamp, but the Deep Medi boat was calling. ;-) Great vibes (despite numerous men grinding on me... :? ) and Vivek's reggae starter was just right. Tunnidge might have been my favourite though.

I've probably missed out a whole load of stuff, but overall I enjoyed it one hell of a lot! I'm not sure if I'd camp again, but would definitely consider going next year. Glad to hear they're not upping the capacity either! Too many already I think. ;-)

Big up those who weren't the dickhead minority. :Q:

Yep, there was a whole bunch of DSFers there actually but it was too loud to introduce you to everyone!
