If everyone has a right to their opinions, and there are dozens of threads on here where Skream gets slated/supported, why get so uptight about people giving their opinions in response to the question OP asked? Nobody is disputing his skill as a producer, just saying that they didn't enjoy his set. Also, this thread was about Skream and Benga, not just Skream. :W:

I'd (like to) imagine that the moving of the thread is in place of any potential locking. Just change the title to SNH Undergarments and it will reflect the reality of the situation.

speckle wrote: the point i'm making is that there's a lot of cowards on this forum hiding behind screens, ready to take amateur shots at popular DJ's for a little bit of net attention. its all those people, i'll always take issue with. its one thing to say that someone who DJ's to 100 people on a friday night is worth X amount of your time/money. its another thing to say that a DJ that plays for 5,000 to 25,000 people on any given week, is worth x amount of your time/money. those two DJ situations just don't compare.
Indeed they aren't the same thing. Attacking a local DJ who attracts 100 people a night will most likely damage their reputation a hell of a lot more than attacking a DJ who can sell out stadiums of mugs.

I think it would be a little more productive to defend the guy who's just starting out, compared to defending the guy who's all set no matter what people say about him...

With that said I'm still planning on going, been wanting to seem him play for a few years now. Even if it is a bit shit now :cornlol: guess I'm one of those mugs who'll buy a ticket no matter what.

And to add to get back on topic, wool socks are the greatest. Last month I grabbed 6 pairs for $15 from the local Loblaws/Superstore!

where and who mentioned the "dubstep politics" you speak of? only you...

the moderators aren't "working hard" to allow group A to be trolled, and group B to be promoted. what you're implying is totally ridiculous. there's dozens (and i'll find them if you want) of skream threads on this site, where he's getting slated and also supported. opinions are opinions. everyone has a right to them, but trolling popular dj's and producers (burial, zomby, skream, rusko, caspa, skrillex) is becoming a growing sport on this site as we get bigger, and when there's a pattern of it, the moderators will definitely get involved, as its stupid.

just as we get involved when unknown DJ XYZ has a problem with DJ ABC, or DJ 123 thinks he can flood the site with soundcloud spam. moreover, this idea that skream doesn't need protecting, is also as silly as implying that we should only be protecting and promoting new talent. we started the dub's forum to do exactly that 4 years ago, so you don't have anything to stand on in regards to that. this whole site is geared towards helping people get exposed, connected and on their own path.
perhaps i should have elaborated a bit more-

when threads making fun of US promoters/dubstep fans pop up because mt eden was billed, not a peep from you.
when threads slate youngsta for being same-y, formulaic and boring pop up, not a peep from you.
however when a thread asking opinions on arguably the most well-known and certainly one of the highest-paid djs comes up, you get involved, perhaps correlated to the fact that you have been chilling with skrenga themselves over the past few days in NYC.

that, to me, is moderator politics.
